I recently realized that most of my beliefs are lies. “I don’t like this.” “I prefer doing that.” “I’m not the kind of guy who does this.” Most of it is just a mask to stay consistent with my past actions. But once I break the habit, move somewhere else, or change the people around me, the mask fades… and I wonder how I could’ve believed XYZ in the first place. I think it’s called cognitive dissonance, and I’m amazed by how much it impacts almost every decision I make.

Jessica liked the dinner I made so much that she switched from a fork to a spoon at the end to make sure she didn't miss any. First time I've hit that mark.

Changed the heading on pawlean.com from "latest writing" to "latest" so that I can include my recent video... I've been thinking about merging paulinenarvas.com into this space because there's definitely huge overlaps.

Took myself on a walk down memory lane today after meetings in Central I left my home city in 2023 for the first time in my life. I was born South West, grew up in the suburbs, spent most weekends in West, did a degree at LSE, lived the bulk of my time in North London (on the doorsteps of The Arsenal, COYG) before arriving at my final home in East along with the move out came several global roles, all remote, so I haven’t been back to London much, and certainly not Central business areas I spent most of my 20s… what struck me when walking today, more than hearing other people use slang I’ve unknowingly phased out of daily use, was how much my life has changed professionally in such a short space of time I graduated with enthusiasm but limited options. I needed to work. I had no money. A lot of debt. A bit of internship experience and a lot of retail experience in department stores I started my professional career advising government and international institutions, evaluating some of the largest national infrastructure projects and tech investments from that, I learned to code. Built data pipelines and cloud infrastructure for a legal tech startup, advised and designed modern application architecture for the largest government identity program in Europe, launched products and programs all over the world including Latin America, Japan, China, and every corner of EMEA… and most recently working on never-built-before technology solutions for a new era of finance and artificial intelligence. if I could tell that enthusiastic, but petrified, in-debt woman what she would achieve in the next decade, and be debt-free and financially independent by 30, she’d probably shrug and walk off, thinking I was taking the p*ss… I guess, I’m sharing this because I’ve shocked myself at how much I’ve been able to achieve… and I’m just getting started. London is, and always will be, the best city in the world
