This is a heartbreaking and condemnable act of violence. Attacking innocent people, especially on Christmas Eve, is cruel, wicked, and completely unacceptable. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and everyone affected in Maiduguri. Those responsible for this cowardly act must be brought to justice and the government must urgently strengthen security to protect lives and restore peace.

PAKISTAN: a woman was raped, and instead of arresting the rapist, the Sharia council decided that the rapist’s sister should be raped by the victim’s brother. The innocent teenage girl was publicly raped in front of 40 people in a practice called ‘revenge rape’ in Sharia law. It’s not racist to acknowledge that this culture is not compatible with the West!
