In America, reality and facts and truth are completely superfluous to narrative. What actually happened is irrelevant, the only thing that matters is how it is used narratively to advance this or that agenda. One function of this is always going to be "people who dig for the facts". Kirk was killed by woke extremists — the agenda is obvious Kirk was killed by the government — this serves the agenda of marginalizing the federal government from an active political role in America, and becoming purely securitized (police state), and provoking unrest in the population. The S&P traded in an eight percentage point range (+3.4% to -4.7%) before closing the session just 0.2% lower. The yield on the 10-year US government bond traded within a 35-basis-point range (3.87% to 4.22%) before closing at 4.21%. In the process, the dollar (DXY) index experienced a bit of a rollercoaster ride before ending the day 0.4% stronger. Yet, while all would likely agree that it was a wild day, there won't be universal agreement on whether this was the "wash moment" that allows the markets to establish greater stability -- and for good reason.
