@CFC_OBED Will Palmer and Foden be ok being Saka’s backup? Foden,Palmer,Bowen all play the same style when played as a right winger-cutting in to the middle rather than offering width. Noni on the other hand is an ideal backup for Saka with very similar style though not the same skillset.
English

@Chelsearory Foden and Palmer compete for that #10 spot with Jude, Rogers, Eze, Gibbs-White etc and not for the right wing spot with Madueke where Saka is guaranteed to start anyway. Gordon and Rashford will compete for that left wing spot. Not difficult to comprehend at all.
English

@EduardoHagn Should have picked Palmer in place of Jordan Henderson. What is Henderson doing in the squad in 2026 🤦♂️
English

@DanielB00193182 @Rory_Talks_Ball Gibbs-White will make it to the squad too I think. With Rice, Anderson and Kobbie in the squad, there shouldn’t really be a place for Henderson. Should have picked Wharton or Palmer in place of Jordan.
English

@Rory_Talks_Ball Rogers, Bellingham and eze as number 10 is more than enough
English

Who the fuck is going? 🤣
Ben Jacobs@JacobsBen
🚨 Chelsea duo Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill are both set to miss the World Cup.
English

@Rory_Talks_Ball I can understand Foden not being picked because he has hardly ever done well for England but not picking Palmer is a shocker for me despite the poor season he has had.
English

@johncrossmirror According to you journos, ARS do not have anyone deserving yet Arteta took them to the finals of the Carabao, leading the PL, in the finals of the champions league with the best defensive record in both the PL and CL. Rice, Raya, Gabriel are all more deserving than Bruno.
English

Incredible season… time the assist king got the plaudits for himself. Many congratulations. Richly deserved @theofficialfwa
The Football Writers' Association@theofficialfwa
Congratulations to @B_Fernandes8 for being voted the Footballer of the Year. The @ManUtd captain garnered 45 per cent of votes, 28 ahead of runner-up Declan Rice, while Erling Haaland was third. He is the first United player to win our award since Wayne Rooney in 2010 #FOTY2026 footballwriters.co.uk/editorial/brun…

@amyungruff @markgoldbridge Igor Thiago has had more influence on Brentford than Bruno has had on Man U
English

@markgoldbridge Bruno has had more impact that the entire Arsenal squad.
English

@markgoldbridge And if biggest influence is criteria, I would argue Igor Thiago with 22 goals has had a greater influence in Brentford being 7th than Bruno has had in Man U being 3rd who has had lots of help from Mbuemo, Cunha and Sesko.
English

@markgoldbridge Runners up of the Carabao, leading the PL table with most clean sheets and fewest goals conceded, in the finals of CL being unbeaten with fewest goals conceded. Anyone of Rice, Gabriel and Raya are more deserving than Bruno.
English

@JohnBrewin_ We keep hearing that none of Arsenal’s players can be considered best or world class because they haven’t won trophies and that the game has always been about glory yet you are telling me it is not about trophies won but just about the individual?
English

@PSGINT_ Team that is 3rd in La Liga beat a team that is 16 in the PL, team that is 1st in Ligue 1 beat team that is 6th in PL, team that is 1st in La Liga beat a team that is 11th in PL. The only unexpected (maybe) is the team that is 2nd in La Liga easily beating team that is 2nd in PL
English

@AlanRenner7 Yet only one team from Germany, France are in the QFs. No team from Italy made it so how are those leagues any better?
English

@Mike_RMCF Best league in terms of competitiveness does not equate to having the best teams in the world and if you don’t understand the difference, there is no point explaining it to you. There are more PL teams in the QFs than France, Portugal, Germany and Italy. Only La Liga has more.
English

@AllFootball356 @JanAageFjortoft Which also means that while the PL is more competitive, the best team in England is not any better than the best team of Germany, Spain, France etc.
English

@AllFootball356 @JanAageFjortoft Money has nothing to do with it. Bayern poach all best players in Germany and add 1 or 2 world class players. Barca/Madrid and PSG do the same in Spain and France respectively. The best players in England are distributed across 6 or 7 teams so no one team hogs all the talent.
English

@markgoldbridge In the end, there are 3 La Liga teams, 2 PL teams and only 1 team from each of Portugal, Germany and France and no team from Italy in the QFs yet it is only PL that gets the bad rep.

@JanAageFjortoft Not really. Only 2 left and do you think psg wont batter this pool team
