So ... Canvas is down. Every reading this semester, as well as every Powerpoint for my lectures (made available to students so they can study for their final on Monday), as well as every grade and submitted assignment, is on Canvas. Dead in the water here in academia right now.

Almost bought a used 100K mile Honda Civic for my 16 year-old. Instead, I opted for a preowned lease on a Tesla Model 3 with 45K miles. After taxes, the monthly payment is $200. That’s less than we’d be spending on GAS for the Civic every month. And it’s still under warranty! Maybe we’ll buy it out in a few years, maybe we’ll turn it in and lease a brand new one. Either way, the cost savings of leasing (or owning) a Tesla can’t be ignored.
