I work in DC and I know things. FSD will change your life. Fly American Airlines. I know more about epidemiology than you. Blue Horseshoe loves Anacott Steel.

@gummibear737 No, I get that argument. I just didn’t see the connection between Mike Lee’s post, his post, and your comment.

@congressdj That's not the point
He can pretend to be a conservative all he wants...but he failed the Tucker test
English

How is he still President of the Heritage Foundation?
Sad state of affairs...

The Senate parliamentarian is neither a judge nor an elected official. She is merely a general counsel there to give advice, not render verdicts. She is the Deep State in Congress if her opinions dictate the business of the Senate.

@congressdj Great example! I am usually in the wrong too when I override. My wife trusts FSD far more than me now 😢
English

FSD always knows better.
Minutes after getting into my Model X loaner, I almost caused an accident by overriding FSD. The car stopped about 40 feet short of the line at a red light, so I thought it was doing something wrong and hit the accelerator. At the same time, a car in the far right lane was moving toward me with his blinker on, trying to get into the left turn lane. FSD saw this and I did not. When I accelerated, he was about to move in front (because FSD was allowing him to proceed), and I came within inches of hitting him. FSD did everything right to let this guy proceed. I, as the human, was the jerk.
Too bad I don’t have access to the cameras, as that would have been a great video on why we should always trust FSD.
English

@JonBbC_TechGeek Someone else suggested that, too. But here’s the thing. I’ve literally never done that since ASS was merged with FSD several months ago - and I use ASS several times a day. These two times both coincided with the day of the update.
English

@congressdj You need to exit out of the Summon menu in your app. I had this exact same issue.
English

OK. I’ve now experienced a new and related problem between Actually Smart Summon (ASS) and FSD twice in the past hour with 14.3.5.
2 out of 4 times, when I entered the car at the end of a summoning, the car would not go into drive. Stepping on brake didn’t work and the gear switcher toggle was not on screen at all. Took 15 seconds of repeated brake presses before it went into drive, and then FSD becomes unavailable for the remainder of the drive (also disappeared from screen, and scroll wheel FSD activation also not working).
From this point, both times, I had to park and take off (and put back on) my seatbelt before I could re-initiate an FSD drive.

Buying a Tesla changes you. But once you experience FSD, you’ll have a deep desire to explore your world. That’s because spending time inside of such an incredible machine allows you to experience all of the outside beauty. Sit in a Tesla and press the blue button. You’ll see.

Since buying my M3P, I’ve gone 5,000 miles on full self drive, and visited 14 superchargers. All without touching my steering wheel. Where shall I visit next? 🥰🥰🥰🥰
English

@durai_ashwin08 I brought the service team donuts. But that was after I got the loaner. :)
English

@congressdj Glad FSD saved the day yet again! Btw how did u get hands on a Model X loaner?? I thought they phased them all out a while ago.
English

@TechOperator And at least you have that option. People run out of gas in the middle of nowhere all the time. Wouldn’t it be nice if Hilton had a gas station for those moments? Oh, wait.
English

After 5 years of EV ownership, it finally happened. My wife spent hours at a charger on a road trip yesterday, and we would not change a thing.
What happened? She was attending a friend's funeral in Wichita Falls, TX. To get home more quickly, she stopped at a DC quick charger before the funeral.
When leaving, she set the destination to Wichita Falls, TX, instead of home. The EV charged for a few minutes, then let her know she was ready to continue.
She arrived in Wichita Falls, TX, with 10% energy. That place is a ghost town for EV charging. All chargers are at dealerships or available only to hotel guests.
The next DC fast charger required 18% battery to reach, with a safety margin. Fortunately, the Hilton staff gave her permission to charge after I called the front desk.
One spot was left when she arrived, so waiting was not an issue. But all chargers were running, so the charging rate was painfully slow. After about 2 hours, she finally had enough energy to continue.
When she finally reached the DC charger, it took about 15 minutes to get more than enough juice to make it the rest of the way home.
But here’s the thing: we have three EVs, charge at home, and, by conservative estimates, we have saved weeks of time and thousands of dollars with EV ownership.
Can you get stuck at a charger for hours? Yes. Does it happen often? No. Would you rather spend weeks of time and thousands of dollars on ICE fueling and maintenance?
We wouldn’t.

@congressdj I had an incident last week where it wouldn't move over and so I took over and almost ran into someone. Learned my lesson. Luckily they were able to brake and avoid accident.
English

@garrison_james @AlexG13B1986 I’ve only had to chase it down once. But that was on the old version.
English

@congressdj @AlexG13B1986 I’m scared to use it after seeing videos of the car trying to use a road to come back around. Do you ever have to go get it?
English

@thechrishale No real insight other than gut feeling. I’m hoping by the end of the month.
English

@congressdj Ay idea when the v14 Lite goes wide for AI3 cars? It’s been radio silence since release to early access… let’s go!
English

@Pickenheim The DC express lane system is ridiculous at best for a human to figure out. That’s the only time I disengage on the freeway anymore. But at least I’m prepared for it.
English

ya started a few years ago where you realize it was mostly right and you were distracted by a conversation, almost always right but in the DC metro area there are a few funny spots with the newer HOV Express Lanes and then having a five minute detour to get back on line, and I don’t know any better because the road is confusing to me too
English

@JamesMcPherson Yep. It needs to be either or at this point. Either we drive manually or we don’t.
English

This has happened to me so many times that I've stopped intervening.
Last time, I was trying to change lanes and super frustrated that it was not moving over. I jerked the steering wheel and hit the accelerator, right into a car in my blind spot. Fortunately that car swerved out of the way and didn't hit me.
I stopped taking over after that.
English

@JoNationLive @Teslaconomics That guy is such a complete assclown. The dude posting videos of driving his car with his feet and kids without seatbelts. No wonder Elon unfollowed him. The only big so-called fan account I’ve muted.
English

. @Teslaconomics has zero room to criticize anyone.
“They/Them” posted a video on SM with children not buckled up in the backseat while they have their feet on the dashboard. CPS should take your kids away and you should be charged with child endangerment!
“They/Them” should STFU and worry about their own house.
