Not everything is cortisol. The ‘moon face’ of Cushing’s requires chronically high cortisol levels (from disease or exogenous steroids). Everyday stress does not do this. Most puffy face = fluid shifts, diet, sleep, or weight 😁

I’m so annoyed with the widespread use of “cortisol face” on Tiktok. It’s not cushingoid, it’s just puffy. Unless you’re on steroids or actually have pathologic hypercortisolism…

The ILD-RISC score has been developed and validated as the first multi-parametric, consensus-based, data-driven algorithm to predict the presence of systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease (SSc-ILD) on high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT). In addition to its high sensitivity (85.6%) in identifying patients who should undergo HRCT at baseline, this screening tool (including FVC%, DLCO/SB%, digital ulcers ever, age and SSc autoantibodies) performed well during follow-up to decide when to repeat HRCTs in baseline ILD negative patients.
