Getting these email every day now $500M series A is unheard of 5 years ago But also, what’s the upside for joining? You’d need to be valued at $5B to get 10X on your equity—pre-dilution Main winners are early investors not employees

@raastapopoulos @rl_env He designed arc. Programming language design requires taste. Especially an appreciation for lisp-family languages

When slicing oranges for cold brew, cut the fruit in wheels, not wedges. Wheels fit the cup’s geometry. They infuse flavor more effectively, place the aromatic peel near the rim, and make the drink more visually distinct and appetizing. This principle applies to all things.

@zachtratar @KaraKindly @zachtratar eh I would be flattered not offended that people are attacking your company Attacking either 1) gives them engagement or 2) your co already dominates the niche they’re building in. In either case it’s a vindication that you’re a relevant company

It's understandable that people think Notion is a note-taking app. But really, for a very long time actually, it's actually been a "malleable software" app! A blank screen that let's you type is the simplest entry-point. But you should be able to capture and create anything. Solve any problem. Systematize any process. What is truly the difference between a notepad and an infinite canvas that's living and breathing? It's how you decide to draw on it. The ShipOS launch today is a flag in the sand marking a big shift. Notion builds and runs code -- and it's changing the way businesses and professionals operate. It's a tool. And a pretty cool one I might add. That's why I'm proud to work on it. As always, send feedback my way.😅

A tale of two Exeter grads. Girl 1: rich surgeon dad but cursed with a low IQ, Exeter and then a crappy SEC college. Now works in influencer marketing in L.A., gets pounded by a different guy every week. Girl 2: middle class family from Deep South but blessed with a high IQ, top of her class at Exeter, wins numerous math contests, top of her class at MIT, early employee at a decacorn startup, now a partner at an elite VC fund. Two girls, roughly the same age, same high school. But their paths diverged wildly. IQ is destiny. It cannot be faked. It cannot be bought by daddy’s money. It is the #1 predictor of life outcomes.

Yeah, I never met an Exeter or Andover grad that were dumb. They are far more prepared and polished than most students.
