🇪🇷Eritrea’s Stand for Peace vs. Abiy’s Path of Chaos — The Region Sees the Truth Now 🇪🇷Eritrea seeks peace — because we’ve paid the highest price for war. From Tigray to Amhara, from Sudan to Somalia, Eritrea is extending its hand of peace. We’ve been consistent in our policy of regional stability and unity. 🇪🇷 We welcomed Abiy Ahmed with open arms. We saved him at his weakest, pushed for Horn unity, and proposed a trilateral pact with Ethiopia and Somalia. But Eritrea has realized the painful truth: Abiy is not a leader of peace — he’s a puppet of foreign powers bent on destabilizing the Horn. Here’s the pattern no one can ignore: 1️⃣ Cracked down on Oromos — his power base. 2️⃣ Unleashed total war on Tigray, inviting all Ethiopians and foreign drones. 3️⃣ Betrayed Amhara & FANO, who helped him in the Tigray war. 4️⃣ Risked conflict with Somalia over an illegal MOU with Somaliland. 5️⃣ Now, he’s provoking Eritrea, targeting our sovereign ports. 💣 If a leader is drowning in debt, but still buys drones to bomb his own people, then the world knows exactly who he is. 🌍 The region sees it now: Abiy is isolated, exposed, and desperate. Eritrea stands firm — for peace, for dignity, and for the future of the Horn. The first sample shipment of coconut seeds has been successfully dispatched to Eritrean ministry of agriculture via DHL. The Go green Eritrea initiative @GogeernEritrea initiative proudly dispatched a DHL package containing the first sample shipment of coconut seeds to Eritrea's Red Sea coast, a region with a challenging saline environment where these seeds' remarkable adaptability to high sodium chloride levels enables them to thrive in coastal areas.

❈ SUDAN - ERITREA CROSS BORDER TRADE TO RESUME The governor of Sudan’s Kassala State, Major General Al-Sadiq Muhammad Al-Azraq, said his administration is on discussion to reopen border crossings with #Eritrea, with a particular focus on reviving commercial activity, the country's news agency SUNA reports today. In a discussion that included the state security committee and several agencies responsible for managing the crossings, they outlined the purpose of their visit to Kassala. The visit is part of broader efforts to identify alternatives to official ports, given the well-known challenges and risks that underline the need to reactivate formal crossings across the states. Yasser, a member of the delegation, explained that efforts are underway to restore trade with #Eritrea in a way that brings both national and local economic benefits, supports social responsibility, and revitalizes markets near the border. The delegation also acknowledged the significant work done by Kassala’s agencies in recent months. It was noted that the ongoing war forced a number of Sudanese citizens to seek refuge in Eritrea, even as voluntary returns from and through Eritrea have now begun. As part of the visit, the delegation toured the Al-Laffa border crossing to assess current conditions. The crossing is currently limited to the movement of individuals between Eritrea and Sudan. The visit also highlighted the infrastructure and logistical needs required to fully reopen the crossing for broader operations. All participants emphasized the urgency of resuming trade through the Sudan-Eritrea border crossings. They called for renewed implementation of trade protocols and agreements that could deliver significant economic returns, support regional integration, and encourage peaceful coexistence and community development in border areas, along with enhancing security. In a clearly constructed article by Debesai Tesfu (which is highly recommended article in @shabait he argues: One should also ask if #Ethiopia’s “shifting geopolitical priorities” has informed its refusal to entertain #Djiboutian offer of a direct commercial port in August 2024. Clearly, the mysterious #Ethiopian “strategic interests” override available solutions that facilitate commercial activities. Hence, the “strategic priorities” must be of military or naval nature, which are not rights granted to landlocked states under international law, without a coastal state’s consent. This Ethiopian ambition for direct sea coast ownership, then, stems from their desire to build a navy as an instrument of hegemonic power in the region. #Ethiopia’s Untenable Red Sea Ambitions @hawelti shabait.com/2025/05/19/eth…
