@halvarflake The foreign held debt is down over the last decade. I think it's around 25% by now and the currency's current instability is probably further lowering the foreign held debt. I sold my US treasury bonds too :)

... the US just prints money to repay the debt, the creditors *will* have paid for it. In the event of a US-China conflict, we also have one country fighting another using equipment financed by borrowing from the adversary. Modern finance is truly glorious.

An interesting thought experiment: The US spends a lot of money on it's military capabilities, largely financed by debt from abroad. It would like other countries to stop freeloading. But if the USD devalues vs other currencies or if the US defaults on debt repayments, or if ...

@StillWatersPost The optical fibers are made of glass (the amount of other materials is tiny). And batteries are currently usually LFP (lithium, iron, phosphorus) based chemistry, which isn't problematic. Given all the environmental issues caused by this war, I dont think this will matter much.

To the Binarly Board, Team, Investors, Partners, and Community: When I started Binarly, we weren’t trying to build another “security” company. We built Binarly to solve a problem that the industry kept ignoring: You can’t secure what you can’t see, and in the software supply chain, too much is invisible. Over the last five years, we built something real. We advanced the state of the art in program analysis, accelerated real-world AI adoption, and raised the bar for vulnerability research. We brought supply-chain security out of theory and into production. We shipped the most advanced product in the market, and we launched open-source projects that have helped raise the bar for the entire industry. Most importantly, we built a team that refuses to accept limits, people who keep going after the hard problems because they matter. That day is now. Not because my passion is gone; far from it. But because it’s time for me to pursue new ventures and contribute in new ways. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, and I’m confident in what comes next. Binarly is entering its next phase, and it deserves leadership that wakes up every morning thinking about the mission: scaling this platform, always improving customer service, and winning the market. To our team: You are the reason Binarly exists and succeeds. To our investors: Thank you for your conviction, your patience, and your partnership, especially when the work was hard and the outcome isn’t guaranteed. To our customers and partners: Thank you for trusting us with mission-critical risk, for pushing us to be better, and for placing your trust in Binarly when the stakes were highest. As a continuing Board member, I will remain deeply connected to Binarly and its mission, and I’ll be cheering for this team every step of the way. With gratitude for the journey, and full confidence in the road ahead.

No-one will take seriously a weak and divided Europe: neither enemy nor ally. It is already clear now. We must finally believe in our own strength, we must continue to arm ourselves, we must stay united like never before. One for all, and all for one. Otherwise, we are finished.

@halvarflake Back in the softice days I did so much debugging. I absolutely loved it. My fling with debug pretty much died with softice.

In the same way there are kleptomaniacs that can't keep themselves from stealing stuff, I suffer from some form of debug-o-mania where I seem to subconsciously seek out life situations that make me spend time debugging in gdb or rr.

@thegrugq @nicowaisman Exploits can be viewed as practical demonstrations — akin to mathematical proofs — of a vulnerability. Yet, as in many disciplines, we frequently settle for less than rigorous proof

Much like the question of whether a tree falling unheard makes a sound, a CVE that hasn't been verified for exploitability, is it truly a vulnerability?
