Not uncharitable at all. It's true. And I think (for heated rivalry at least) this is because people became fans so early in their careers. That's why they feel like shareholders.

@liszeria Possibly uncharitable take here, but I think there are some who over-identify with artists to the degree that they don't think of themselves as fans so much as shareholders in a stock. Someone else's career isn't a choose your own adventure book! We don't get a vote!

@andflwrs i agree with all of this but it does not really refute the assertion that she might have feelings for him. she clearly looks hurt that what he has with jane is deeper than they have and by comparing herself to jane she equals them as ilyas potentional romantic partners

@yourcryinghost @rszanovs tbh I think she liked ilya as much as he liked her. in this scene, I feel like she is more pushing him to be happy the way he really wants and deserves, and stop pretending to please his family/country. the defeated mood is also bcs of everything that happened with his brother.
