@BBC_HaveYourSay machines at train stations are the tip of the iceberg. Investigate train prices charged by travel agencies mandated for use by the public sector
@BBCNews The scandal is bigger than this and goes to the waste of public monies. I'm a lecturer and need to travel to London on Friday. The travel agent I AM REQUIRED TO USE wanted to charge the university 78.00 for an off peak ticket -- over 2/3 more than what Trainline would charge me.
@ucu@DrJoGrady I worked nearly every week-end last year. I've had a single increment raise in pay since 2011. My application for an additional increment last year was denied. Instead, I was 'thanked' for the pastoral care work I did. Teaching and long article in US journal were simply ignored
Today, at a meeting of the education select committee, a Conservative MP shamelessly accused higher education staff of not "pulling together” during the pandemic.
Here was @DrJoGrady’s response.

I've done election spots on BBC local affiliates here in the South of England. I have done my best to be thoughtful, measured and respectful. A bit more emotional today -- I explained the difference between a protest, a riot and and an insurrection (which is organised).
@scottdetrow@asmamk@nprpolitics Contact your British friends. Only gossip here. No politics broadcasting allowed until polls close. A lot of nature programmes!
I am so sad @asmamk is on the road today. I am desperate to talk about the Boris / Love Actually ad, and she’s the only other person at @nprpolitics who lives in that Venn Diagram of interests.
Such an effective political ad!

Listen to how he speaks to the women Senators. It tells you all we need to know about what Judge Kavanaugh thinks and feels about women. #KavanaughHearings
I’m just putting out into the universe that after today’s charade, I NEVER AGAIN want to hear about how *women* are emotionally volatile harpies who can’t manage their feelings or modulate their tone. #KavanaughHearings
