Researchers at MIT have questioned whether SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time-bound) actually work. They suggest we might get better outcomes if we make our goals FAST (frequently discussed, ambitious, specific and transparent) not SMART.

Congratulations to @kcps_carver kindergarten teacher Carolina Costa Candal for receiving the $2,000 @Voya Unsung Heroes Award grant! Ms. Costa Candal proposed a project to incorporate many of the books featured in the @RabbitHoleKC Museum into classroom instruction. More soon!

1967 - The last year voters approved KCPS bond funding. 60 - The average age of our school buildings. $650M - Amount of deferred maintenance at school buildings. KCPS is the only Missouri school district in the region without voter-approved bond funding. Isn't it time?

You might remember when the students at Sayre School District in Sayre, PA, sent our students cards encouraging them in the wake of the @Chiefs Championship Parade tragedy. Our @KCPS_Carver students were so touched, that they put together these letters & cards in response!

Representatives from 4th, 5th, and 6th grade form our student council. They have planned and run so many special activities this year! Most recently, they hosted an opening ceremony for field day. We appreciate your leadership!

Last Friday, we played our annual sixth grade versus teachers soccer game. This year the teachers were victorious! We enjoy this tradition so much. We will miss you sixth grade!

We were happily surprised by this visit from Carver alum now graduating high school! These kids were taught in 3rd grade by Srta. Niedzwiecki, 4th grade by Sra. Patricia, Mr. Murphy, and Mrs. Strack, and 5th & 6th grade by Coach J.
