Nope. Referring to you. You're right, the exception to slippery slope is when there is a logical consistency of cause and effect. But you're wrong to assert the OP is an idiot when they are making a pertinent cultural observation that the term is widely misused to disengage from criticism when advocating for the erosion of norms and taboos. "Cool, you think 'no one in their right mind' would go that far. But if political leaders are incentivized to promote themselves as problem solvers, what is stopping them from observing the next limit as a problem to be solved? What core ethical principal would prevent that progression when democratic popularism constitutes the foundational ethical framework of the secular west?" There are many views that insist on reform without adequately providing a foundational basis which would inhibit further amendment to the status quo. Slippery slope accusations just invert the issue by accusing legitimate boundary-inquiry of fallacy when the reformer cannot adequately describe a logical limit to the basis of their desire for reform.

Is slippery slope even a fallacy? I feel like it's a very real concept. A valid arguement in many cases.

Yes, it is a fallacy 😂 I see you're not a real big thinker, lol. If the logic IS valid, it's not a fallacy, dummy, lol. The logical fallacy is suggesting that an initial action will lead to a series of negative consequences WITHOUT PROVIDING substantial evidence for that claim.

Misleading ommission is dishonest. Religion has never asserted itself to be curative. People will often try to use it that way, and you can handily make this case against cults, but the reason why it's 3% and not higher is because desperate people will mistakenly turn to the church for cures or answers. And because the church prescribes a change in lifestyle which isn't what they're looking for, they'll slip right back into criminality but now with the label of "Christian" smeared across their forehead.

Gaming culture leans left. The gamers who put up with it are largely centrist libertarian right. You will never find a major mainline title with authoritarianism in it unless it's being satirized or denigrated, and it will absolutely never allow itself to be conflated with left-wing authoritarianism lest it close itself off from Chinese markets.

Dangerous question time ⚠️ Do you find 'gaming' culture, in general, leans more to the right or left wing, ideologically. Not, which way do YOU lean, but based on your time in the hobby, which side do you seem to encounter more often.

"Calls out" is the untruthful part of your reporting. It asserts that TPUSA was contradictory to do so as a matter of implication, conflating Charlie Kirk's willingness to hold open discussion with the idea that Kirk believed every time and every place is right for open dialogue. "Accuses" is more accurate.

@flyanew @celestiumart Respectfully, no serious theologian adds "Christmas play actor" to their repertoire to justify their unorthodox views. Your Catechism evidently wasn't thorough enough to provide clarity of understanding that not everything you've "done" in a church is of equal veracity.

The process of engaging is logos is what you define as drifting away from reality. In order for you to be logically consistent, you would have to concede you are out of touch with reality. In effect, insane. This would indeed be logically consistent that every one of your assertions has been patently insane, but that's about it. It 100% contradicts your assertion that you have been 100% logical this entire time.

@ToxicLavenda @tufpraise Hey, I found it. "Language is the art of being increasingly wrong" "Logos is wrong and should not be engaged in." vs. "I'm 100% logical and consistent." Do I get a cookie?

@ToxicLavenda @tufpraise Okay, cool. So Israel should keep bombing the crap out of houses which Hamas turns into missile silos, Palestinians should keep getting out of harm's way and start fighting back against Hamas to compel it's surrender. We agree.

So when Big Bad Bibi repeatedly tells Gazans that "Israel is not at war with you, it is at war with your captors", and all the evidence corroborates this, Palestinians should do the illogical thing and die for their masters so Israel looks bad and Hamas can reconnoiter attack with impunity. Got it.

You are proposing what Palestinians ought do. That is you prescribing for them. What's wrong is it is their lives on the line and you lose nothing if you're right or wrong. Worse yet, the basis for your proposition is in direct contradiction to your prior assertion that Israel is a genocidal maniac state. You think they should "be pragmatic" because you have nothing to lose. To you the choice is a matter of arithmetic. The problem with your "advice" is it's incoherent nonsense. You want Palestinians to ignore the roof knock and die. You argue that it will backfire on Israel in total contradiction to your prior assertions that Israel is a genocidal Jewish state.| Israel isn't waging a war of terror, it is waging a war of retaliation against the organization that has in it's charter sworn to wipe jews from the face of the earth, and that organization happens to be in Gaza.
