Global admiration for how the United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪 is supporting visitors and tourists during the current circumstances: Anyone unable to travel or return to their home country due to the emergency situation will have their accommodation, living expenses, and flight tickets fully covered by the government. They will also be granted an emergency visa to enable them to enter the country — regardless of nationality. This is the Government of the United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪 — a government that places people at the very top of its priorities, without regard to race, color, or religion. The UAE is a homeland of humanity, generosity, and giving.

With the expected announcement that Democratic Alliance leader John Steenhuisen will step down at the party's conference in April, the following conclusions can be drawn: 1. Steenhuisen's handling of the foot-and-mouth disease pandemic and his heavy-handed treatment of family farmers have caused huge damage to his popularity among traditional supporters. More moderate and moderately conservative Afrikaners in particular have been alienated. 2. The DA is currently losing a lot of support among rural coloured voters in the Western Cape and numerous by-elections prove this. Steenhuisen has not been able to plug this hole. 3. Tensions between the DA parliamentary caucus (and other more opposition-appointed office-bearers) and the DA members in the government of national unity (GNU) were already visible last year. Steenhuisen was never able to build a bridge between the two groups, but rather tried to silence the former in order to ensure the GNU's success at all costs. 4. An extremely fluid political climate prevails a few months before a major election. After all, municipal elections in South Africa are increasingly national in character and increasingly about national political issues. The ANC is extremely weakened, but the DA has huge internal problems and is losing support among at least two core support groups - rural and suburban Afrikaners and rural coloured people (also often more conservative). 5. Although this year's municipal elections hold huge opportunities for the DA, the party needs a leader who can get South Africans excited about a new vision. Who this could/will be is completely unknown. A fascinating phase in South African party politics lies ahead. 6. For now, it is clear that South Africa is still struggling with too many weakened political parties that are simply leading to voter apathy and general dissatisfaction among South Africans. A majority of South Africans clearly doubt whether party politics can improve their lives and this poses a great risk to democracy. 7. Civil society plays a big role in the country and the pressure on Steenhuisen over the past few weeks over the foot-and-mouth pandemic has proven this once again. Organisations such as business groups, agricultural organisations, trade unions, civil rights movements, churches and all the other intermediary institutions must play an even bigger role in finding solutions to South Africa's huge challenges over the coming months.

Our Goat Pieter Groenewald Achievements👇 Breaking Criminal’s Control in Prisons - Launched large-scale, consistent raids (over 460 in past year). - Seized 33,000+ cellphones, 232kg drugs, 20,000+ weapons, R394,000 cash. - Disciplined corrupt officials; ended contracts for smuggling involvement. Reducing Food Tender Corruption - Expanded inmate-led production on prison farms and gardens. - Promoted self-sufficiency to cut external supplier reliance and costs. In-House Essentials & Skills Training - Increased bakeries from 9 to 13+; producing millions of loaves. - Saved R27m+ on bread alone; inmates gain baking/agriculture skills for rehabilitation. Reforming Broken Parole System - Cleared backlog of 599 lifer parole cases ahead of schedule. - Held national summit; pushing reviews for tighter assessments and public safety focus. Shift from Talk to Action - Greater self-sufficiency, reduced corruption risks. - Real rehabilitation via work/discipline. - Prisons as secure rehab facilities, not crime hubs (despite ongoing challenges like overcrowding). In the world of Nelson Mandela : we don’t care if the cat is black or white, for as long it can catch mice !
