@BasedJace__ @StoolGreenie Playing with pace is something I'm shocked they didn't go to more this year. Granted, results speak for themselves overall. But I'm with you
English

@andrewberry12 @StoolGreenie They also should be playing faster and attacking in transition. They don't do it.
English
@BasedJace__ @StoolGreenie Thanks for a more level headed take. I don't even mind volume threes, but they have to come within an offensive flow
English

@StoolGreenie I hope Joe Mazzulla learns a valuable lesson in this series that the playoffs are small samples. You need to have other options if your 3s aren't falling. Yes, you can go cold for 3 straight games.
Find other ways to get buckets. "Mazzulla Ball" needs tweaking.
English
@StoolGreenie Dan, I love following you, but you can't say these are the same quality of shots
English
@KeithSmithNBA I like the aggressive flashing their guards coming off screens, but yeah gotta pick who's helping better
English
@KeithSmithNBA They feel like a directionless franchise right now
English

The lesson is that getting swept by your rival is ok. Winning by 16 runs is not ok.
Jeff Passan@JeffPassan
The Boston Red Sox fired manager Alex Cora, hitting coach Peter Fatse, bench coach Rámon Vazquez and game-planning coach Jason Varitek, sources tell ESPN. While the Red Sox won today, they are 10-17 and in last in the American League East. Massive change is coming in Boston.
English
@Ball_Purist @StoolGreenie Sounds like we have some great options game to game then!
English

@StoolGreenie It’s not a gimmick there are 100 possessions a game, Tatum healthy and historically demands and deserves a lot of those, JB proved this year he can also handle a high number of them
English
@StoolGreenie Lots of people still think the aprons are just lux tax problems (I.e. Will the owners pay or not), like Felger has been pedeling. I don't expect someone in the weeds to know how penal the second apron is but I think even the most casual of casuals will learn soon
English

That was my point. The decisions are coming around the core no matter what. Anyone pretending they aren't is in denial. No different from BOS keeping their core and selling off the "others"
The difference to others is OKC's ability to retool, but there's no guarantee those players end up as good.
This isn't a 2025-26 problem, but the clock definitely starts 2026-27 once the Chet/JDub extensions start
Same fate is coming for teams like MIN/CLE/NYK etc. It's just how things work now

Mike Japs@JapsMike
@StoolGreenie When that scenario come around, OKC would have to let go of Lu Dort or IHart and that’s not until 2027(Both on Team option deals). Which Sam Presti prepared himself for that with drafting Thomas Sorber(IHart replacement). The core of SGA/JDub/Chet will remain for a long time.
English
@ryunyusef @StoolGreenie I can't see any rational observer putting him lower than 25 but my broader point still remains. I'd rather have him, contract and all, compared to a lottery pick that might be great or might not.
English

Has anyone answered the question of if teams are willing to give up their young talent for a "win now" player like White or Brown...then doesn't that tell you they don't think those young players will be championship ready in 1-2 years?
If that's the case, why are you wanting to surround not ready players next to Tatum in this window?
English
@StoolGreenie did Butler hit a shot in the 4th tonight when his team needed him? Such a clutch player though!
English
@BosSportsBros @OnlyInBOS I just don't think it's a guise, I think they are legitimate concerns. So if that's the delta here, so be it. Best to you.
English

@andrewberry12 @OnlyInBOS I can assure my issue is with the mayor who restricts outdoor dining permits and targets specific restrictions to the north end under the guise of “space issues,” especially when it’s been proven that it can be done successfully
English
@BosSportsBros @OnlyInBOS I didn't defend anything with political rhetoric. The north end is different due to sidewalk size, which is logical to me. If you are in favor of shutting down streets to automobile traffic (I am), then your issue is with residents who don't want that.
English

That she doesn’t allow dining to
Occur outside in the north end while it’s allowed in mostly every other neighborhood in Boston, that is stupid. As well as the bike and bus lanes on Boylston St and the shit show of drugs at mass and cass, want me to keep going or are you just going to defend this stuff with stupid political rhetoric
English
@BosSportsBros @OnlyInBOS What specific policies do you think are stupid in this case?
English

@andrewberry12 @OnlyInBOS There was dining outside in the north end during Covid and now there isn’t, pretty black and white. Those sort of policies and stupid government decisions do nothing beneficial
English
@BosSportsBros @OnlyInBOS I don't think that we are. The restaurants I assume you're referencing don't fit the guidelines of acceptability. It has nothing specific to do with the North End, other than it's unique geography and layout compared to the rest of the city.
English

@andrewberry12 @OnlyInBOS Buddy we’re talking 2 different things here
English
@BosSportsBros @OnlyInBOS Dogs on patio are allowed so long as their application is approved, which is the same for patios in general. That certain restaurants don't fulfill the obligations is not a fault of anyone but the restaurant.
English

@andrewberry12 @OnlyInBOS You’re wrong, it is not allowed in the north end
English
@BosSportsBros @OnlyInBOS It's been allowed in Boston since 2023 under guidelines created by the Wu administration
English

@OnlyInBOS Good luck getting mayor Wu to approve that, can’t even dine on the sidewalk in north end never mind the dogs
English
@JamPackard Who do we talk to about the horrendous Build a Burger challenge at the garden? 40 seconds is not enough time to build that burger!
English

And Sam Hauser hits a buzzer-beater!
Celtics finish NBA Cup group play at +23.
We'll see if that's enough to hold up for the Eastern Conference wild card spot. One day of cup play left on Tuesday.
Keith Smith@KeithSmithNBA
Joe Mazzulla again chasing point differential in the NBA Cup. Took a timeout with 1.4 seconds left and Boston up by six. Celtics are +20 right now.
