@galvinmufc7 @Stew_Wills @utdcynical Yeah I’m not sure I’m understanding how calling a good goal a banger instead of just a good goal is “what’s wrong with the fanbase” but go on.

Circumstances surrounding Santos and Tielemans deals highlights issues in departments at #mufc but they'll soon have depth in midfield. Not convinced by a Chelsea squad player farmed out on loan four times but maybe Santos will thrive in a new environment. Tielemans oozes quality and United should've gone for him years ago. Rarely lasts whenever the club restrict themselves to an age range. Still need an established defensive midfielder.

@jmthrivept @FPLMahomes BTW this is how haaland always plays. He didn’t score, so your Yankee brain says he didn’t play good.

All fair points, but we might not be lining up in terms of context. I totally understand it from an offensive strategy perspective and how the coaches would want to use him. From what I observed on the touch opportunities that he did have: 1. Midfielders passed it forward to him a few times and he didn’t present himself fully, allowing the defender to challenge him and forcing a poor first touch then turnover (happened at least 3 times that I can think of today) 2. I understand standing offsides in terms of gravity and pulling defenders, but there were 2-3 opps that I saw where he slowly walked back while one of his midfielders had control of the ball and resetting attack. Could have put himself in better positions to get back onside and then create pressure opps for the midfielder to chip over the defense and use his height and size against the goalie. Instead, he was walking back assuming they would just swing the ball back and around (maybe that’s what they coach, idk… I was taught you always want to keep options open to keep defense on their toes). 3. For his size and speed, he surprisingly allowed the defenders to challenge him in ways that prevented good touches and control today, leading to at least 2 errant passes towards teammates. Could be better here It’s just funny because I’m getting comments like “stick to American football, you clearly don’t understand the game!” when these issues are pretty clear, and I played in college and I coached for a while 🤣

@FPLMahomes Explain your point more. I’m viewing it from a team and ball movement standpoint, especially on attack (and especially as a forward)

@InOhioB @andrewjs__77 @jmthrivept For the record re my previous response to you: I would firmly stand in the camp of “you can critique a player for whatever you want no matter what your resume is and you might be right”, but hopefully respect, thoughtfulness and genuineness is a tenet of your communication style.

@andrewjs__77 @jmthrivept @InOhioB 1. I didn’t see him call himself an expert 2. He played college soccer 3. You don’t need a resume to talk about a sport or even bring up good points (I’m not saying Jeff has or has not) 4. Did you want to comment in good faith with an opinion or nah?

I have never come across a situation quite like the Ederson-Man Utd situation. The agreement was all there, but at the very last moment the club decided against it due to medical/injury concerns. Man Utd have kept numerous targets for their midfield recruitment, so this isn’t a setback by any means. #mufc
