An intensely devastating and horrific day here in Sydney, and for a very close Bondi community, a place where I spent over 10 years with my young family, and had only just left earlier this evening. One of the worst atrocities we have experienced as a country for a very long time, and our hearts are broken in two. My love goes out to everyone affected by this heinous act of violence, and particularly our Bondi Jewish community who were targeted and all other families and their loved ones affected. Thankyou to NSW police and first responders who put themselves in harm’s way, after the Bondi Junction stabbings they once again showed their bravery and protection of community, to everyone who helped, and to the absolute bloody legends who acted to save their fellow Aussies. Unbelievable courage in the face of unspeakable violence. The type of extraordinarily selfless acts that Australians can always be counted on to provide for others. You make us proud to be Australian, at a time when there is only intense pain and anguish, tonight. Australians always pull together in times of crisis and support each other, and many families will need our support now and in coming weeks and months.
