I hate that optimism is associated with inexperience or childishness. The idea that if you are optimistic - it’s because you haven’t seen what life is. You can see what life is and still be brave enough to know it could be more.

the “young hoes” jokes are so interesting to me. there’s obviously a gap in homemaking skills across generations for several reasons, but also, men don’t have those skills either lmfao it’s a very cool window into the culture of convenience and instant gratification (and gender)

Unrelated but being aware you have internalized misogyny as a feminist is so humbling. This man came to my exhibition with his wife, and I kept telling him to buy something for her. He calmly corrected me and said she has her own money, and if she wanted anything, she could buy it herself that she doesn’t need him to do it for her. It really took me aback. Why didn’t I ask her if she wanted something? Why did I automatically assume she needed a man to buy it for her? I felt so bad about myself and honestly, I had a whole epiphany that day.

whenever I eat a green apple we share it together just a piece of apple between two friends. He knows the sound of a crunching apple now so he’ll wake up from his nap to get some apple.

self-sabotage is also: - not asking for help - rejecting praise - isolating yourself when hurt - saying “yes” to everything - putting your needs on hold - procrastinating on important tasks - watching too much news - trying to be perfect
