Volunteer crewmembers from Whitstable RNLI participated in the Remembrance Sunday service held around the war memorial outside the library in Oxford Street. This year the hymn 'Eternal Father' contained a verse to recognize the 200th Anniversary of the RNLI:

Lifeboat Operations Manager Mike Judge said “The Whitstable Street is a popular location for anglers who often wade chest deep in the water - the message we need to get across is the risk of being swept away by the strong currents into deeper water.

An angler who was swept off his feet whilst fishing on a shingle spit known as the Whitstable Street was brought ashore by the Whitstable RNLI Lifeboat on Sunday morning. The casualty was located close to Long Beach - he had been fishing chest deep when was swept off his feet.

1/2 Police were called this morning to reports of a person in the River Thames in #Brentford. This resulted in a large deployment from #ResponseTeamC, @Ldn_Ambulance, @HounslowFire and @RNLI. When emergency services arrived on scene, a male was located in the water in distress.

Members of Whitstable lifeboat crew took part in the RNLI Cycle event at Betteshanger Country Park on Saturday to mark the RNLI’s 200th anniversary. A group of four intrepid cyclists from Whitstable took part - Ollie Myhill, his father David, Andy Mayo and his wife Kim.
