I can’t see how a reference to rape can be interpreted any other way. Rape is not a lightly taken subject. Besides, the effect it’s had is truly appalling. I hope these discussions are honest and apologetic on many levels. I hope it’s positive.

But I understand that through my actions I’ve made that look hard to believe, and I know that all we can do now is to apologise and work extra hard to repair that.

@jacqueawallace Yep I totally accept that. It WAS racist and I should have stated that more clearly. I know it seems hard to believe but I failed to recognise that when I tweeted it. And through that and through our employment of Shaun we did enable it. We fucked up and we’re really sorry.
