@destiny_thememe The occams razor is simple. In the books they're married but he doesnt love or trust her, or want to let her have his children, so this just looks like hes doing himself a favor, "Damn me if I let a Bene Gesserit seduce me while looking like that"

@BurgerB0yz @Dexerto I promise you, if you're ever recovering from organ failure, you will understand that a sucker punch can be as dangerous as a gunshot. Every incident has a complete set of circumstances, but you are not considering the most important part of them for the victim in this case.

@Ian_Fisch @ivanka_humeniuk These people are just trying to "meme-ulate" the same cynical behavior that web designers had in the early 2000's and 2010's, this isnt even a novel gimmick. "I do all this not-real-or-tangible work, Customer asks to redo whole thing, I rage at their ignorance" is the template.

@ivanka_humeniuk Incoherent and terrible. Literally no idea what this was supposed to be or what was supposed to be happening. Just looks like a woman being thrown to the ground by an invisible nothing and then stands up waving a bloody dagger around for no reason.

Me: sends a gorgeous AI masterpiece and minds my own business 🌸 Client: "Love it! But can we change the lighting? And maybe the hair? And the whole background?" Me internally: 👇 Don’t wake the predator, tbh. I’m literally one "minor tweak" away from losing it. 😂 Done with Seedance 2.0. How’s the physics looking? 🏹 PROMT📌 Overall Intent: A deceptive cinematic sequence transitioning from serene, stylized portraits on a sun-baked prairie to rough, adrenaline-pumping tribal survival action scenes, utilizing strong dust physics, aggressive camera shake, and dramatic slow motion. Shot Sequence: Shot 1 (0-3s) Medium Shot Camera Movement: Push-in Motion Dynamics: Slow, smooth, deliberate camera push-in to establish a false sense of tranquility. Core Action: A young woman (a tribal warrior, with white face paint, a striking red handprint on her chest, wearing an elaborate beaded blouse and feather skirt, long, dark brown curly hair, and a feather headdress) stands completely relaxed on a sun-baked prairie covered in tall, dry grass. The intense midday sun. Realistic hair physics and complex fabric simulation as a breeze blows. She casually twirls a strand of hair around her finger. Suddenly, her eyes abruptly turn to one side, revealing a highly alert micro-expression. Audio environment: Loud wind sounds, cicada chirping, a sudden, aggressive bow draw, and a heavy heartbeat. (Cut to) Shot 2 (3-10s) Panoramic Camera movement: Handheld Motion dynamics: A sudden transition to violent, aggressive handheld camera movement, simulating documentary-style battle footage. Core action: Explosive dynamic movement. The woman scrambles to the ground with lightning speed, demonstrating real conservation of momentum, milliseconds before an arrow flies overhead. She rolls aggressively through the hay, kicking up a thick, volumetric cloud of golden dust (complex particle collisions and fluid dynamics). A hand emerges from the dense dust, pulling out a bone dagger. She delivers a powerful, rapid thrust directly into the camera lens, her body physically passing through the dust cloud. Audio environment: Cinematic air whooshing sounds, heavy thuds of a body hitting the ground, rustling of hay, and loud, aggressive tribal taiko drumming. (Cut to) Shot 3 (10-14s) Low angle. Camera movement: Static shot. Motion dynamics: Slow motion (bullet time effect), looking up from the ground to establish dominance. Core action: The woman stands high above the camera's subjective viewpoint. Her chest rises and falls with heavy, tired breathing (realistic human behavior). The white paint on her face is now stained with realistic dirt, and the red handprint on her chest catches the glaring sunlight. She stares directly at the camera with a wild, fierce gaze, then suddenly twists her wrist, using realistic physics to fling a bone dagger to the side to shake off imaginary blood. Audio environment: The drumbeat reaches a huge climax and abruptly stops, leaving only heavy breathing and the crisp whooshing of weapons. (Cut to) Shot 4 (14-15s) Close-up. Camera movement: Tracking. Motion dynamics: A rapid inward push, directly into the subject's eyes. Core action: A close-up of the woman's fierce, predatory eyes fills the frame. The scene instantly cuts to complete black. A minimalist text overlay appears: “Don't wake the predator.” Audio environment: silence interspersed with the distant cry of an eagle.

@Ian_Fisch The fact that games have to be installed is in some cases why we've been able to preserve games that we no longer have access to physical copies of. And if games were strictly loaded to memory you'd still have an initial long load time per session with same loss-of-disk risk.

@sNaomiMV @retrollel2 I'll put it this way, if I were them, this tweet is their way of saying "hi music industry, if you are one of the one's who just bought my game please dont use that as reason to be able to sue me, I promise you being able to 'buy' it is a fluke and I will not collect the money."

@patrician_tv I had an unhinged piano teacher so maybe there's some bias when I say what to me seems a natural logical conclusion, but I would never take a composers word at face value when speaking for what will be the end result of a 'video' game project.

@dirtcheapbanks 2003? My brother in finance, we still rely on COBOL for the overwhelming majority of banking transcations in the US financial system, so this is hardly a shock without more context.

Bought a community bank last quarter. Found: 3 redundant VP titles, a core system from 2003, and a loan committee that meets on Thursdays because that's when the judge is free. Sent a restructuring plan. They called it "hostile." I call it Tuesday.

@ReapedPsyche @PaulTassi This is entirely speculation, but if the server slam was the playable build of the game plus systems to collect data for said server slam, then the main release should be smaller by that much at least right?

@Ian_Fisch I see what you mean, on the left I realize my decade spent in d1 and 2 are why I immediately knew 5th down is probably Marathon ammo, on the right it's just blatant which is probably more approachable to new players. That said, it worked for them as long as it has in Destiny 🤷‍♂️

When it comes to UI design, I think the goal should be to make icons as intuitive as possible. The less you have to teach the player, the better. For instance, which icon would you click on to see ammo?

@GeriPerna @AmericanWoman_X @WellsFargo This is common. In the 5 years that I was in the banking industry I kept track of personally preventing over $3 million in fraud wires and transfers, just by identifying when a scammer was contacting us by phone, with access to enough of a members information to pass most checks.

I have to VENT! Yesterday, my guy went to @WellsFargo in Florida to withdraw 7k, in cash. The teller called the manager over, and he asked what he was using the money for. My guy said, how is this any of your business? The manager said, we are required to ask. Then he told him he would have to come back tomorrow. My friend went to @TDBank_US in NJ today to withdraw 3k, and the teller asked her what she was using it for. My friend was furious and refused to tell her. WHAT IS GOING ON? THIS IS OUR MONEY! We earned it, paid taxes on it, and it we want to take it home and burn it, we can do that! Has anyone else experienced this?

@MadamSavvy They could have called themselves an "art director" and honestly nobody would've been able to tell otherwise. That said, at least these types are being honest about the fact that they largely just oversee the outsourced and often underpaid laborers in the process.

60 days to get hired by american companies that are all laying off. The studio is shutting down but honestly? This is a blessing. You dont belong here and your position shouldnt be standardized. You email people in poorer countries to outsource work who get hired by others- thus creating a very “samey” look across games. Your salary and probably several others could have gone to pay for 3d artist/rigger combo. Yall even had a “director of office culture”. Thats 2 salaries right there that can afford a VERY GOOD artist. “I shipped 30 skins” We arent going to play resume games. You emailed people who did actual work. You sat in your AC waiting around. Also, thats not impressive. Even 3D nft artists moved faster and made better looking crap.
Tereza "Teya" Rozumkova@TerezaRozumkova

I’ve just been laid off from Highguard, where I worked as a Senior 3D Character Outsource Manager. I have about 60 days to find a new job in the US. Over the past year, I built and owned Highguard's 3D character and mount cosmetics outsourcing pipeline. I shipped 30 skins for Season 1, more for future seasons, and directed up to 32 assets simultaneously across multiple vendors, handling everything from daily artistic/technical feedback to pipeline/documentation creation and UE5 integration/lookdev. Before that, I spent 4.5 years at Riot Games working on League of Legends, where I modeled & textured 23 skins and managed 60+ outsourced skins. I’m actively looking for roles in character art, outsource management, production or art leadership (US or EU) 💕

@PaulTassi Drawing conclusions are we? That's an artists job! I want it to be successful too, but you're comparing apples to oranges. Highguard and Concord both had much less reveal time before they were in people's hands. Of course there is Marathon creator content before launch!

@lindayen29 @EthWindward @TheBillyDude @RealTheoWold Instead of a half-baked gotcha, why don't you point out the hypocrisy of them giving her an exception. You sound childish pointing out a law like it has a sentient will of it's own and the capability to enforce itself. Laws are ignored by their own governments all over the world.

A very interesting contrast between two American-born athletes at the Olympics. Freestyle Skier Eileen Gu (right), despite living her entire life in America, competes for China and gets paid millions of dollars to do it. Figure skater Alysa Liu (left), who just won a gold medal for the United States, is the daughter of a Chinese immigrant who participated in the Tiananmen Square protests. China attempted to recruit her but she refused and needed enhanced security from the State Department at the '22 games in Beijing because of it. In a world of Eileen Gu's, who sell out their country for cash, be an Alysa Liu. 🇺🇸

@JoeLeydon There's a really simple answer for this and it's that since the 90's we've taught kids to view our media and entertainment as a product of evil or inheritly so. You'd have an easier time engaging them on the topic if you approached it as a "remake project" conversation.

A few years back, a senior student in my Screenwriting class asked me who was my favorite living filmmaker. When I mentioned Martin Scorsese, he gave me a blank expression and asked, "Who's that?" Mind you, "The Wolf of Wall Street" was in theaters at the time. And this was a SENIOR production major.
