one of the things i always see cited about GQuuuuuux in Japanese circles is how it successfully got many new fans into Gundam yet the western fandom constantly talks about it as a nostalgia-bait show that was only made to appeal to boomers who grew up with the original series

@DoctorPlato @nianlovesyou It’s because while I still enjoy it for what it is, it unfortunately bears the Arknights name and in comparison to the OG it’s a steaming pile of dogshit. Irreparable aura-loss and immeasurable downgrade in every metric besides graphical fidelity.

@nianlovesyou I really enjoy Endfield, I really don't get why people get so butt hurt about it.

you know i'm generally not a fan of whatever endfield is doing with the image of arknights in the eye of the genral public and how they're handling the extension of the ip from the perspective of a long time fan, but even i had to kneel at the CC title drop

@Marcodmeatball They flexed so hard on the engine and knew if they didn’t hold back on other things the entire western AAA dev scene would have public meltdowns and neck themselves out of inferiority 😔 Thankfully Pearl Abyss’s restraint resulted in only resentful, backhanded compliments.

I really like Crimson Desert because it's a soup game that combines everything together but it's also hella ambitious. I am seeing this as a pejorative on this site but it's genuinely cool to have a game iterate and expand on. Not everything needs to be innovative.
