According to L'Équipe - Newcastle have already made contact with Lens over a deal for 21yo goalkeeper Robin Risser. The French stopper is the club's first choice to become their new No.1 next season. Lens want around €40m for Risser which could be a bargain as he is seen as someone with high potential. #NUFC This is the kind of player we need going forward.

😮‍💨 WHAT A big result to get us back to winning ways! 🏁 After a rough spell, that 3–1 win over an in form Brighton felt like a proper reset — and the tactical tweaks made a huge difference, even if Nick Pope was a lucky boy! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Lewis Miley’s role was key today. By stepping into central areas from right back, whilst in possession, with Thiaw stepping into the right sided defensive areas, an effective midfield overload was created against a Brighton side that find their joy through holding possession in central areas. 🇧🇷 Out wide, Joelinton was brilliant in doubling up with Burn on the tricky Minteh and keeping the winger quiet whilst also being great in supporting attacking moves. Brighton never really got joy down that side in the first half, which resulted in Hurzeler switching his wingers around. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Further forward, Willock’s more advanced role was key. He thrived playing off the chaos Osula caused to the Brighton back line by making supporting runs and playing off of the Dane. It gave us a directness we’ve been missing in the last few games. ⚫️⚪️ Questions were definitely asked when the lineup had initially been released, given the strength of our bench. But huge credit to Eddie Howe today, as his tactical tweaks were effective enough to get us a vital win in a tough spot. That's what he's paid to do, make the tough calls and he certainly did, even if they weren't the popular decisions. Even when Brighton scored he responded quickly, boldly and decisively! Howe saved us, got TWO cup finals (won 1) and 2 x UCL runs. Dealt with the mess behind the scenes, representing us so well (and brought some respect under the PIF sportswashing cloud). Yet there are #nufc fans who would rather see us lose, than hope he turns a corner. Senseless.
