After assessing tens of thousands of youth players it’s my conclusion that the through ball ⚽️ & balls into space are overused in the USA 🇺🇸 & Canadian 🇨🇦 youth system The idea of playing to feet, to the correct foot with pace & circulating the ball quickly to draw the defending team out of spaces is rare Every pass cannot & should not be a “killer pass” @SRUSA_Official

I miss the days when a TV just turned on with no fuss. 3 tellies since the advent of "smart TV" (aka a glorified tablet) and every one, after 6 months, slows to a crawl and gets buggy. Sort it out manufacturers!

Stop overcomplicating shooting drills if you’re serious about developing improving finishing. Player's need focused and deliberate reception. Not lengthy drills where they get one shot every 5 minutes. [1to1footballtraining]

@AdvFtbAcad I would say the best youth players make goods decisions. The right decision there was to play simple. If he was drawing in defenders to create space behind then fine, but he wasn't - he had no plan. Still good feet

Average youth players rush to pass the ball when they are under pressure. The best youth players stay calm and stay on the ball.

Just an observation over the last year, seeing a lot of youth players (U13+) that struggle with accurate passes more than 15 yards? Is this because of recent coaching trends? Players not doing enough tech work? Curious what you’re seeing, coaches and players. Drop your thoughts and age group if you can.

NEEDS RAISING. An awful decision from the @SussexCountyFA to Ban our player of 17 years old for 6 weeks from Playing or Refereeing due to failing to submit a Red card given in a juniors game. 6 WEEKS! And they wonder why there is such a lack of referees in Grassroots football!

Reflecting on refereeing yesterday. I had a coach shouting for fouls all the way through the game, apparently he's know for pressuring refs. Happy with how I handled it. Annoying that I got injured as he said 'the football gods did that for not giving us fouls' on my way off😡

This is going to sound brutal, and you've heard it before but... 99% of you aren't going D1! UNLESS you are national team level, TOP professional club, and/or you are at a TOP academy side. PLEASE stop wasting your time chasing this. You'll thank me in the long run. There are LOTS of unbelievable schools/teams at all divisions. This isn't basketball or (American) football. (Its one of the weeks when I am in the thick of things with dealing with unrealistic players, AND seeing what D1 coaches want. I'm on the front line, I see whats going on). Rant over 😂 #CollegeSoccer

@cammay37 @KAssigbe It's a different running style for soccer (football) vs track. The latter is straight line speed, whereas the former is multi-direction, lower centre of gravity and built for agility.
