@ChrisDHWaugh @ADMusgrove So we went from 8 million a year for the Noon sleeve sponsorship, to 6 million a year for Knox for both the sleeve AND the training ground? Make it make sense. #nufc

@GuyCharnock For me, there’s a couple options that tick all the boxes:
Combo set p770 with p790 (your long irons are a slight weakness in your game yet short irons are really strong)
Srixons ZXi7 and ZXi5 are unparalleled in feel and looks in my opinion.
Orrrr conveniently Ping i240 👀

@PeterFinchGolf @RoyalDornochGC While you’re up there if you can go and Play Moray Golf club.
The Old course has one of the best 18th holes you’ll ever play…. The course is fantastic…. And the unique occasional Jets flying by makes it a one off.
I head up there once a year from Newcastle.

I’ve wanted to play @RoyalDornochGC all my life! Cannot wait to head up there next week for an event. Everything about this place is looks off the scale 😍

@PeterFinchGolf @TheOpen Craigelaw,
But ideally find a course that slightly wider for you to open the shoulders and use the length to your advantage.

@NUCLRGOLF Learn to manage the course.
If your bad shots are still in play and your good shots aren’t in danger of hazards you’ll shoot well.

@PeterFinchGolf And then Rose with the 3 Wood hole Out. Outrageous PGA scenes. Then Rory to win it….. is the PGA back?

@bryanbrosgolf They hate the success YouTube is having over the PGA tour.
Keep it going guys!

Hate to give this guy a shout out?!? What the heck does that mean?!

@PGALIVHotTakes LIV golf knows YouTube works. I’m not saying it’s LIV vs PGA but there’s a reason they’ve signed Rick Shiels,
You can get rid of the boring stuff…. Keep the good stuff and make it entertaining.
What I can’t fathom about TGL is why there’s no data…. Show me Rory’s numbers!

Last night I watched both TGL and Phil + Grant 2v2 vs. DJ + AJ. Here are my thoughts...
First TGL:
Tiger and Rory are entertaining, and last night was the closest the "competition" has been. So in theory, this was the best we are ever going to get. Lets all be honest, the ceiling is very low. Yes, it was somewhat entertaining, but the two biggest names in "OT" and it was a 6-7/10 at best. Some fun moments for sure, some of the biggest personalities, but very mid.
The set up is cool, but like a new car smell, it becomes less fascinating with time (and very clearly makes mistakes) Also the producers want the matches to be close. So bad tech, and rigged matches, I don't envision sports betters lining up. (which at best is what makes this league work)
Overall, entertaining because Tiger's aura. But very low ceiling overall.
Next Phil + Grant 2v2 YouTube series:
Phil has jumped in with one of the biggest Golf YouTubers, Grant Horvat. The pair is extremely entertaining. They played DJ and his brother AJ in a new 2v2 series. It was one of the best YouTube golf videos I have seen. It perfectly rode the line between competitive and fun. Phil had a quote that went something like "I cross the line way too often when I win, but that's why its so fun to beat me" and it was obvious that DJ and AJ were there to just have fun, but were also pissed that a 54 year old was handing it to them. It reminded me why people were first drawn to the first iterations of "The Match". Phil is one of few golfers who can chirp and play and its both fun and competitive. I highly recommend watching it.
Comparison:
I personally thought the YouTube video was 2 or 3 times more entertaining. That's not a good look for TGL when its truly their best (Tiger + Rory + Overtime). You can watch actual golf, on a course, but still "Primetime" on a Monday night just not live and on YouTube. Because the Phil and Grant video was so good, it truly had me thinking that this whole TGL league should be different YouTube channels (Teams) Playing/filming on actual "Home Courses" and releasing the series like a TV show. Yes, not live and no betting, but I think Tiger on YouTube would bring more eyes than TGL will ever.
I thought the YouTube content was better almost on all fronts. It was more competitive, more entertaining, more fun, and you got to actually watch golf instead of a broken simulator.
If you also watched both, I am curious of your thoughts...
Share if you agree.
