If someone regards a trans woman as "a man who claims to be a woman" should they be allowed to say so? As editor of The Spectator, I published Gareth Roberts making this point. IPSO, the press regulator, has censured The Spectator for doing so. On 6th Oct 2023, Stephen Flynn asked Gillian Martin for help with a wind farm consent. He later received a £30k donation from a person connected to the wind farm.
So, I asked to see relevant correspondence. Scot Gov refused, calling the request “manifestly unreasonable”. Hmm.
