🇨🇦🇫🇷 @EmmanuelMacron @CanadiensMTL

@GregCowanST Appreciate your work Greg even tho OS is the last thing on hockey minds at the moment. It's always been a great story. Chat with Coach Sanford if you ever get the chance.

@spittinchiclets @BizNasty2point0 Mindset before goal (watching from the beautiful fairwinds golf course in nanoose, bc) Okay I'm gonna to pretend to be a relative of a cancer patient in a waiting room in a hospital being at peace with all potential outcomes but knowing one in particular is best for the patient.

He's still a hawk but I recommend his book if you want a sober look at how USAgov do threat assessment & long-term peace-building from a clandestine and diplomacy perspective. Pompeo was (likely) behind first post cold war us strike on Russians (in syria) which changes the game.

What a privilege to receive the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. Like millions of Americans, I'm descended from Ellis Island immigrants - Carlo Pompeo and Adelina Tollis. As we celebrate our nation's 250th birthday, it was truly inspiring to stand in the Great Hall & reflect on our remarkable national story.

@KCVelky @CFrechette When I went to mcgill I had a bad drinking accident and I went to the nearby French catholic hospital ER and the triage nurse told me to speak French and that my tank top was too cleavage/slutty to go home and change. But the Subban Price Gallagher era of the Habs made me a fan.

@CFrechette Je suis Français vivant au Québec, je suis tombé en amour pour ce pays et cette province, vive les Québécois.e.s et vive notre relation francophone qui, j'espère, continuera. (même si les Français ne sont pas les plus aimables parfois…)

On D-Day, June 6, 1944, paratrooper John Steele’s parachute snagged on a church steeple in Normandy. He hung there for two hours, pretending to be dead as the battle raged below. Today, a mannequin still hangs from the steeple in his honor. Steele served with the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the U.S. 82nd Airborne Division. In the early hours of D-Day, his regiment was dropped behind enemy lines as part of the effort to secure key towns in Normandy. Due to scattered drops and intense German defenses, many paratroopers landed directly in and around Sainte-Mère-Église. Tragically, several were killed almost immediately in the fighting, but Steele’s misfortune of being caught on the church steeple may have saved his life. Wounded by shrapnel and dangling helplessly, he feigned death while chaos unfolded in the square below. Eventually, German soldiers cut him free and took him prisoner, though he later escaped and rejoined Allied forces. Sainte-Mère-Église went on to become the first French town liberated on D-Day, and Steele’s ordeal became one of the most memorable stories of the invasion. Today, the mannequin on the steeple serves as a permanent tribute to his survival and courage. © History Pictures #archaeohistories

@ChrisHabs360 I actually think it's beneficial for a coach to be visibly stoked and happy during these conferences but what do I know.

#Habs Martin St. Louis following Game 7 win "A good first period. In the second, we got dominated, but we didn't get hurt too much. Our third wasn't great, but they have a good team, it's not easy. On the other hand, I liked our overtime. I find that we tried to go out and win the game. We were aggressive, we were calculated. In games like that, you have to find ways to win, and that's what we did." #GoHabsGo #NHL #Hockey

The #habs were supposed to be a first round exit but then they saw all the friendships that were being made through #hockeytwt and decided that the power of friendship expands past the ice. They are men of the people
