Some personal news……I’ve been diagnosed with Stage IV advanced prostate cancer I’m fortunate to have a simply outstanding medical team looking after me, who I can’t thank enough - they are administering the best possible care with expertise, compassion and sensitivity.

Garry Monk: “Out of all the games this season that’s probably the proudest I’ve been. We didn’t give up, we kept going. We got our deserved rewards today. With ten men, two things can happen. Either you feel sorry for yourselves or it galvanises you. It galvanised us, the crowd."

Seeing claims again that bike schemes slowed London buses. The figures show no such relationship. Camden and City, w/ many tracks and LTNs, saw 2nd and 3rd lowest falls in bus speeds 2013-24. The worst boros include Wandsworth and Ealing, which did no schemes or pulled them out.

@peterwalker99 Do people seriously get paid to cut and paste this horse 💩 and pass it off as their own homework?

Perhaps the most surprising part of this deeply tedious piece about how cyclists should have mandatory number plates, insurance and licensing is the fact that it is all partly Ed Miliband's fault. Who knew?

@andrewpeach @BBCBerkshire I was in the Capital newsroom when Howard joined to do the breakfast bulletins for Chris Tarrant. A unique broadcaster and master of his craft. He was the go-to man if you needed advice on microphones. A big loss to our industry. RIP Howard.

I am so sad to hear that my friend Howard Hughes has died. Howie was proud to have been @bbcberkshire's first breakfast presenter in 92 but I was prouder when he came back to be part of my show. He made every word - every syllable - count and was the master of morning bulletins..

I helped train Howard Hughes when he joined Radio City + later worked with him at IRN. He was a natural broadcaster who truly loved radio. When he read a bulletin you stopped to listen. Clear + authoritative but also warm + accessible. Modern-day newsreaders take note. RIP Howie

such sad news to hear of the loss of #HowardHughes - my career overlapped with his countless times and I remember chatting with him when he was taking over from me as Chris Tarrant's news reader - such a lovely lovely man and a HUGE voice -- thoughts with everyone who knew him

Just heard the terrible news that my old friend Bruce Davidson had died. As well as being a brilliant Chief Engineer for me at Chrysalis he also soldered at the very top at both Global and Bauer. Best CE I ever had and such a shame to go at such a young age. Great guy😪
