COVID19 patient spent 6 days walking on the ventilator, 8 days proned, then 4 days standing and working on walking until extubated. He got himself into his car to go straight home 10 days later today. He shut the door without looking back. I don't think we'll see him again. :)

A very short video about criticalcarerecovery.com, for ICU patients & their family members. COVID and UK wide versions of the website in development. Please share.

@trishgreenhalgh My partner is one of the 5% in ICU in a critical condition since 31 March. I didn’t know if I’d see him again. He survived, 20 days intubated and sedated. No photo till 11 Apr, when a kind nurse sent a photo. Immense joy. Still in ICU, still unwell, but alive.

🚨 OTs take note: for ARDS survivors, 70% and 66% report clin. significant fatigue at 6 and 12 months, respectively. Link to paper: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/32304774 Thank you @DrMeganHoseyPhD for bringing to my attention.

Any Intensive Care OT’s out there who are happy to discuss their role etc? Our team are looking at ways to integrate the OT role into ICU! Much appreciated ⭐️

Met last night with several OTs who work in critical care @CriticalCareOT (virtually of course). So fabulous to have enough OTs in this specialist field to be able to share experiences and consider best practice. We’ve come so far! Looking forward to the next one!

Wonderful article with contributions from insightful experts. The public should know what life after the ICU is like. Do we understand this from inside the ICU? @DrDaleNeedham #click=https://t.co/Ywefs8HN9n" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">washingtonpost.com/health/2020/04…

What we need to know from patient/family is 1) what makes their life meaningful 2) what is most important 3) what they are most worried about As long as we know these, we can make a recommendation (give a guidance). I wrote a paper about this, which will be out soon.

@snakagawa_md we’re working on a way to make completing advance directives easier. What’s the greatest impact we can bring to your work?

Just to say for any critical care OTs our there.. there is a Facebook page Covid4CCOT to share knowledge, facts and experience. It’s more specific than the Covid4OT page

Tweeps, here's a few questions I want to ask... In preparation for session 18 of #ICSSOA Q1. Do your ICU regularly use physical restraints?
