While Cape Verde played brilliantly, Argentina have a very dodgy record against relatively new sides - they lost shockingly to Belgium in 1982, Cameroon in 1990 and Saudi Arabia in 2022.

Imagine Cape Verde pushing Argentina into extra time! I have seen Argentina playing since 86 in which Maradona dazzled, watched Maradona cry in the 1990 World Cup final losing to Germany but never seen the Giants being pushed to extra time by a newbie! The goal in extra time was an own goal by CaboVerde which is the sad part of the game! Well done Cabo Verde!
