No. Has any Western country ever voluntarily given up its hosting turn to “share” power with Asian boards? Also no. Yet @BCCI, despite having the money, infrastructure, viewership, and bargaining power to host everything alone, chose to SHARE hosting rights with Sri Lanka. That’s not misuse of power. That’s responsibility. And still, people like Nasser Hussain, Eoin Morgan and Mark Butcher lecture India on “politics” and “power abuse”. Let’s talk facts. Cricket today is global because of India. Broadcast money, sponsorships, grassroots funding, Under-19 pathways, associate Nations, women’s cricket, domestic depth, and yes, men’s cricket at the highest level. None of this growth happened by accident. The IPL alone changed the economics of world cricket. India didn’t kill the game. India funded it. Now coming to Pakistan. India doesn’t refuse to travel to Pakistan because of politics. India refuses because of **security**. Decades of cross-border terrorism. A long history of war. Thousands of innocent Indian lives lost. Despite all this, India still tried to keep cricket separate from conflict. Tours happened. Dialogues continued. Chances were given. But the **26/11 Mumbai attacks** and the **Pathankot attack** were the final nail in the coffin. After that, expecting India to send its players into Pakistan is not bravery. It’s irresponsibility. And let’s not forget the double standards. South Africa was suspended for nearly 20 years. England refused to travel to Zimbabwe during the 2003 World Cup under the same Naseer Hussain captaincy. Western nations have boycotted tours, events, and teams whenever it suited their moral or political positioning. But when India does it for genuine security reasons, suddenly it’s “politics”. Pakistan today behaves like a bully precisely because restraint has been mistaken for weakness. If similar actions were done by any other nation, suspensions would already be on the table. So spare us the sermons. India shares hosting rights. India funds world cricket. India grows the game across genders and age groups. India absorbs criticism. National security isn’t politics. Selective outrage is. Cricket survives because India invests in it. And respect is earned, not demanded. @BCCI should take a tough stance on this and should not back off without taking any concrete action on the terrorist nation Pakistan and its sympathizers.
