I’m grateful as HELL to be able to do for my kids and husband. That’s the best Mother’s Day gift lowkey. I. Am. BLESSED!

Planning birthday parties. Paying bills. Ordering cap and gowns for my son’s graduation 🥹. Finalizing my son’s enrollment for his new school. Ordering new onesies for my daughter cuz she’s getting BIG! It’s giving Monday morning tasks on a Saturday but Happy Mother’s Day to me!

Got hit with an unexpected blessing today. Grateful is an understatement. 🥹🙏🏽

Oh! And I’m back. 🙄😅

When it comes to my peace? I’m gone VIGILANTLY protect it.

@EghosaO On top of trying to reach out, this person is tweeting & facebooking almost daily. So. I can’t grant the same access. I’ll keep them in my prayers & wish them well. That’s all I have the capacity for. If that makes me a person that lacks empathy then... I gotta put me 1st 🤷🏽‍♀️

@aneshaisaplus that's fair. i guess what i am saying is that you shouldnt be too quick to fully write them off even if it is rational to move on in hopes of protecting your own mental health. there are three sides to every story and empathy is a two way street with a circle at each end.

I had a friend that ghosted me this year. Couldn’t tell you why. Never disrespected them. Never spoke ill of them to anyone. I tried to be there for them as much as I could considering my own personal issues. I thought I was actually being a good friend...

@EghosaO I hear you. However, they’ve done this before. I’m not in a place to be emotionally played with. I’ve invested my time, money, energy, shared private information & confided in this person. I texted, called, dm’d & tried to find out why they went quiet. No response. So. I’m done.

@EghosaO I get it’s tough to communicate sometimes but, I have to protect my peace as well. So. I think I’m gonna continue to move on with my life with the hopes of encountering more solid like minded individuals. I wish them well tho.

@aneshaisaplus complicated. you never know what battles (s)he may be fighting. if any of the battles is in the mental health arena, even more difficult to self-manage. easy to just nest and not engage. be patient.

@EghosaO at this point we’ve been friends for so long & they sorta did this before. Although they explained themselves the 1st time I don’t think I have the capacity to pour into the relationship any further. I have my own mental woes & we were building to be each other’s safe space…

What is a friendship with no communication though? If I offend, why wouldn’t you address it or let me know? Safe to say the friendship wasn’t real. I guess some people feel like they don’t have to explain themselves and that’s cool. Lesson learned.

This person I once was friends with was older than me too. I expected to learn something from them. Gain some extra wisdom. They literally disappeared without any communication. One thing about me? I’m gonna take accountability if I offend or hurt someone’s feelings...

Then one day, they just stopped talking to me. Why do people do this? It’s literally one of the main reasons why I choose to stay to myself.
