After the systematic slaughter and #displacement of the city’s inhabitants, after the brutal, methodical #sexual violence inflicted on its #women , and after the #blood of El Fasher’s people has soaked into the earth ,only to be buried with their corpses and scrubbed from the streets ,a #UN mission finally arrives. They come to “assess the situation,” evaluating the condition of walls and buildings long after the #people who lived within them have been erased. Just reflect on that. #Sudan #AlFasher #KeepEyesOnSudan

The awful news from #Elfasher and North #Darfur keeps coming... and the atrocity risk remains high both in and around Elfasher - and in North Kordofan, especially #Obeid. When is the world ever going to do anything about this? #KeepEyesOnSudan #Sudan

🕊️“Peace on Earth” means action and accountability on #Sudan. “The massacres in El Fasher are among the most predicted slaughters in the history of atrocities. Yet no one, from world leaders to the United Nations secretary general, @antonioguterres, has made it a sufficient focus. We may never know the exact death toll in El Fasher, but we should recognize it as a collective failure of civilization.” The good news? Much can be done, if we can find the good will to do it. This is the season where we repeat "peace on earth" -- even as a massacre has been unfolding in El Fasher, Sudan, apparently claiming tens of thousands of lives. It may have slaughtered as many people in seven weeks as the Gaza war did in two years; it may be the heaviest pace of killing since the Rwandan genocide, and it was empowered by our buddies in the UAE. This was one of the most predicted massacres in the history of atrocities, and world leaders (including Biden and Trump) sat on their hands. nytimes.com/2025/12/24/opi…

Whistleblower Reveals British Foreign Office Suppressed Genocide Warnings in Sudan to Shield the UAE Based on a report published by The Guardian and written by Mark Townsend, alarming details have emerged about how the United Kingdom handled early warnings of potential genocide in Sudan. The report is grounded in testimonies from a former threat analyst inside the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and another expert in atrocity prevention. Both say the department deliberately watered down assessments to avoid acknowledging clear signs of genocidal violence, while shielding the United Arab Emirates, which is accused of arming the Rapid Support Militia. According to the analyst, who requested anonymity, warnings drafted only days after the war began in April 2023 contained explicit indications that Sudan was heading toward a new wave of mass atrocities. Yet senior officials removed the word genocide from the early warning assessment and insisted on using softer language that merely suggested Darfur might return to past conflicts. He stated that this was not an oversight but censorship within a government institution responsible for identifying atrocity risks. A former FCDO official who worked on the atrocity prevention team confirmed witnessing a similar pattern. He said the suppression appeared aimed at avoiding embarrassment for the UAE, a close British ally accused of supplying weapons to the Rapid Support Militia. He added that the same behavior had appeared in other contexts, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, when warnings were downplayed due to political considerations. The report also documents the horrors that unfolded in El Fasher after the UAE-backed Rapid Support Militia seized the city. Once the capital of North Darfur fell, systematic mass killings were reported, which experts compared to the opening phase of the Rwandan genocide. Intelligence indicated that the militia spent weeks disposing of bodies, burying victims in mass graves, and possibly burning some remains to eliminate evidence. Tens of thousands of civilians remain missing. The Guardian notes that from the beginning of the war, evidence concerning the UAE’s involvement steadily increased. Analysts inside the UK government monitored recruits within the Rapid Support Militia expressing explicit genocidal intentions toward African communities in Darfur. Despite this, the British government has not formally acknowledged genocide, even after the United States officially declared in January that individuals from the Rapid Support Militia had committed acts of genocide in Sudan. Abdullah Abu Garda, chairman of the Darfuri Diaspora Association in the United Kingdom, said the Foreign Office’s decision to downplay the risk contributed directly to allowing new waves of mass atrocities in Geneina, Zamzam, and now El Fasher. He described the revelations as extremely serious, arguing that Britain’s failure to properly assess the situation played a role in enabling the violence. The whistleblower added that attempts to raise Sudan as an urgent file in February and March 2023 were repeatedly ignored by senior officials. The pattern of dismissing clear early warning signals raises questions that go far beyond bureaucratic negligence. The refusal to act, despite mounting evidence, suggests the possibility that the United Kingdom may have had early awareness of the Rapid Support Militia’s escalating intentions and possibly understood that the conflict was moving toward a major confrontation or an attempted power shift. Ignoring this level of warning implies something closer to full complicity rather than simple administrative failure. Although the British government insists that determining genocide is solely a judicial matter, experts interviewed by The Guardian questioned why the word was removed from internal assessments that were meant to present worst case scenarios. They argued that such terminology was appropriate, necessary, and factually supported. In conclusion, the report shows that Britain’s approach did not only undermine its own early warning systems, it also helped create the conditions that allowed atrocities to continue unchecked. As the penholder on Sudan at the United Nations Security Council, the United Kingdom carries a responsibility to act decisively. Experts and members of the Darfuri community are now calling on the British government to meet its moral and legal obligations rather than protecting political and economic interests at the expense of Sudanese lives. #Sudan #RSFisTerroristOrganization #UAEKillsSudanesePeople #UAESponsorsTerrorism

For people who think that is an unrealistic demand, consider that genocide is a systematic attempt to erase entire communities of people, and allowing it to continue is complicity.

If Canada's arms sales to the UAE are relatively small in comparison to say Germany and the US but bilateral trade is in the billions then an arms embargo should be paired with a trade embargo in order to create the leverage needed to stop them from arming the RSF. (1/2)

All these flights are believed to have landed at Kufrah Airport in southeastern Libya 🇱🇾, a key hub for supplies & weapons sent by the UAE 🇦🇪 to the RSF. The sharp rise in activity suggests the UAE is not genuinely pursuing a ceasefire in Sudan 🇸🇩, despite its public messaging.

Fly Sky Airlines IL-76TD (EX-76003) flew from E. Libya 🇱🇾 to Bosaso Airport 🇸🇴 before returning to Libya. Fly Sky IL-76TD (EX-76022) departed Ain Airport 🇦🇪 bound for Libya 🇱🇾, likely Kufrah. New Way Cargo’s IL-76TD (EX-76026) also flew from Ain 🇦🇪 to Libya 🇱🇾, possibly Kufrah.

Wow. “For over a year we've been warning about the RSF's impending atrocities in El Fasher, in the media and at the highest levels of the world's most powerful governments. Yet the world barely blinked. Governments have kowtowed to the UAE, despite ample evidence that the RSF has been armed to the teeth by the United Arab Emirates… Thousands are being slaughtered and the UAE has the power to end it." middleeasteye.net/news/rape-rans…

"As we write, a massacre without precedent is taking place in Sudan’s North Darfur region, and it is somehow being met with near-total international indifference." Read about what tangible actions can and must be taken to disrupt the RSF's capacity to kill—including targeting the group’s powerful enablers abroad—and urgently protect civilians. @yonahdiamond @mutasimali3 @IrwinCotler @mukeshkapila #ElFasher #KeepEyesOnSudan foreignpolicy.com/2025/11/05/how…
