Delhi’s draft #EV policy is a breath of fresh air, mandating the adoption of electric three-wheelers from 2027 and two-wheelers from 2028. Subsidies drive initial adoption but mandates drive the scale. This is a policy that should be emulated by other states. Delhi must leapfrog technologically and shift to electric mobility. The ongoing West Asia crisis is a stark reminder that India cannot continue with a fossil fuel-dependent transport system, where nearly 90% of crude oil is imported. India must accelerate its transition to electric mobility. Congrats to @gupta_rekha and @CMODelhi on one of the most progressive #EVPolicy drafts. A day at the Delhi School of Economics centred on expanding access, grounded in a simple belief: opportunity belongs to all. From IDFC FIRST Bank, Mr. Adrian Andrade, Chief Human Resources Officer, Mr. Avik Sarkar, Chief Data and Analytics Officer, Rachana Iyer, Head – CSR, and Ms. Eram Eqbal, Senior Manager – CSR, were present. They were joined by Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi, Dr. Ram Singh, Director, and Prof. Devesh Birwal from the Delhi School of Economics. Together, they awarded scholarships to 127 scholars under IDFC FIRST Bank’s M.A. Economics Scholarship Programme, enabling high-potential students from low-income communities to pursue higher education without financial barriers. The occasion also marked the inauguration of two strengthened computer labs for M.A. and Ph.D. scholars, enhancing capabilities in econometrics, statistics, and advanced research. The labs were set up in collaboration with DSE authorities and multiple in-house teams across IT, CRES, CSR and other departments. The extended team included Ms. Pragati Shukla, Head of Analytics, Mr. Deepak Pathak, Lead Data Scientist, Ms. Anjali Singh, HR Business Partner – New Age, Mr. Prasad Satam, IT Infrastructure Engineering Lead, Mr. Sandeep Saini, State Manager – Infrastructure & IFM, and Mr. Swaroop Deulkar, Senior Specialist – Design and Planning. The FIRST IMPACT team also spent time engaging with the scholars in conversations that were candid, grounded and forward-looking.
