@JoeyPasterski @NASA Congrats! I started last week, send me an email if you need any moving advice etc. Goddard also has plenty of resources.

Big news!
I have accepted the role as a NASA Postdoctoral Fellow at the Goddard Space Flight Center helping on the @NASA DragonFly mission. This is a dream come true. I like rocks and lasers, but I never thought these passions would lead me to a Postdoc at NASA.
See you in DC!

@GilesPalaeoLab @MortonHayward @ProgPal2022 @OxUniEarthSci @ross_p_anderson @JCosmidis It's a carbonate concretion from West Greenland. We don't have access to a CT scanner but when analyzed using py-GC-MS it looks nearly identical to Ally's preserved brains.

@angelshale @MortonHayward @ProgPal2022 @OxUniEarthSci @ross_p_anderson @JCosmidis Oooh. Where’s that from? Often the cranial cavity is infilled with calcite, but sometimes it’s something else. Has it been CT scanned?

@GilesPalaeoLab @ProgPal2022 @OxUniEarthSci @ross_p_anderson @JCosmidis Fantastic Sam, thanks so much for sharing your preprint! Absolutely, let's chat fish brains over a pint in Cork 😊

We measure apparent temperatures of CH4 from hydrates from mud volcanoes🌋, cold seeps 🦀, oil seeps⛽️, and pockmarks 🕳, from locations around the globe. Temperatures at cold seeps, oil seeps, and pockmarks match putative formation processes, but mud volcanoes are a bit funky 🤔

Had such a great day at the @NEGeobio22 symposium today! Big shout out to the organizers who put on a fabulous day! Got to catch up with some people and see SO much cool science. 10/10 would highly recommend.

@mc80york @biorxiv_bioinfo Indeed! Many thanks for the chat and support throughout - igniting the idea over a cup of coffee (or was it a Tuborg?) looking at the google sheet @mc80york.

This just happened 😱😱😱 I has been 2 years in the making but I am thrilled that my new lab is ready to analyze ancient lipid biomarkers and metabolites 🎉.It will help us to truly apply a multiomic approach to ancient samples and open new lines of research at the @GLOBE_UCPH
