I might get cooked for this but when have I ever given a damn. Seen many people call this racist, especially users in Nigeria and India. Well to be honest, it’s not. At least I don’t think that’s the case. Here’s why: X is a global product and people from these regions are not the only users. Probably not the highest revenue generating regions too (and extract more) Majority of the users from these regions spam with irrelevant content and slop, not just AI slop. It’s mostly garbage. I live in Africa and I see it everyday. Not saying there aren’t people making good content, the slop is just more. Again majority do this to farm X engagements for the payouts, which they have benefited from. Imagine making money for posting absolute garbage day in-day out. You think the platform is not aware of this and thinking of a solution? 😅 If I was on the product team for X I would have thought this up a long time ago. Also with the way it’s being implemented X is giving users the power to make the decision, which is brilliant. They could have just blocked/limited entire regions. But that’s not good for business and a little excessive. You have been taking advantage of a system they realise is broken and now they are fixing it. So it’s not racist, it’s just a product update that benefits users that are tired of seeing low quality content and the company (X) This way X payouts go to creators adding value. Another lesson in here is that actions have consequences. You abused it and now they are fixing it. It’s that simple. It’s sad that this will impact quality creators though. But it is what it is. Important Update to the PoD System 🚨 Hey folks, here's a quick info update on our latest article. Stake Manager is no longer a thing and has been scrapped. The system was a bit complex for users to understand. Instead, RON Governance with the Treasury will be the main engine, steered by RON holders to impact decisions. Holders will determine how the Treasury spends or uses its capital, token burn & distributions, and adjustments to PoD rewards.
