The recent deadly attack in Jos reflects persistent violence & insecurity in northern Nigeria, where killings, kidnappings & limited state protection leave communities vulnerable as everyday people continue to pay the price. hrw.org/news/2026/04/0…

#BurkinaFaso 🧵 New @hrw report describes how all warrying parties – gvt forces, VDPs and JNIM – have made the killing of civilians a key tactic of their strategies. They have all committed war crimes and crimes against humanity in complete impunity. hrw.org/video-photos/v… 1/8

I was on @AJEnglish last night to speak on the #WoroMassacre in Kwara State, which bore the hallmarks of a JAS attack, notably the Sadiku-led cell responsible for Northwest and Northcentral Nigeria. Sadly, this was another avoidable government failure to protect citizens. The threat in that axis is not new. So, there was no excuse not to anticipate, sooner or later, that such an attack would happen. Right now, unfortunately, the question to ask is, WHERE NEXT?

Insecurity in #Nigeria is not just about the strength of terrorist/criminal groups or the mobility of bandits, it is also about a security system that is slow to respond, prone to error & increasingly disconnected from the people it is meant to serve; thenextier.com/a-collapsing-s…
