ganito kasi ‘yan ✋🏻 kung ayaw niyo sa narrations, u can simply stop reading the story BUT !! u also don’t get to tell the writer na bawasan ‘yun. at the same time, if u do like narrations, don’t put down those who prefer less kasi everyone enjoys stories differently

pls dont be confused, this isn’t about authors. Again, my stance remains strong. Readers don’t get to tell authors what to do. this is more about my belief na we shouldn’t police preferences.

I don’t really agree with cancelling people over not preferring to read narrations. 😅 While I think na sayang naman if attention span lang ang dahilan, you can’t just force someone to like something. Sobrang non-issue sya for me like yung mga clap back is just about one upping each other. Ego nyo lang pinapairal nyo. Yung issue lang naman namin is telling authors na they do too much narration coz uhm you don’t get a say lmao. But let’s leave people’s preferences alone kase right naman nila yan. Regardless if you agree or not. TLDR: wag nyo gawing habit yung mag dictate sa buhay ng iba. Hindi nyo yan ikina-cool.

@unsynkable ay dont worry super agree ako. Yung nangyari kay author is just not acceptable at all. my tweet is about a separate convo regarding policing preferences. pero pagdating sa authors, i fully agree na readers SHOULD NEVER dictate what authors do.

@aninotes_ I agree na it's about preferences. Pero I guess what came across as offensive was the way the statement was worded sa author. "Tama na." To me that sounded as undermining sa efforts ni author to write narrations. Siguro the reader could've expressed it in a different, nicer way.

say ko lang naman walang kaso kung hindi niyo trip yun narrative form of storytelling in aus. ang mali ay diktahan ang mga writers kung anong dapat nila gawin, especially considering that we’re not paid to write aus. if you don’t like it, don’t read it.

PERO! I am a big advocate of reading! Please read. Please please please incorporate reading into your life. Sobrang laking tulong nyo sa inyong critical thinking skills and how verbose you can be + a ton more benefits. My validation of your right to preferences doesn’t mean I advocate not reading. Please please read. It’s so beneficial to your life. Read anything you like! Basta nagbabasa kayo (and hindi sya fake news).

I will never ever go out there telling people who don’t really find my writing or my methods to be their cup of tea na may mali sa kanila. Like that’s NOT OKAY. As long as they don’t dictate my life, what right do I have to dictate theirs? Anyways, hindi yan need pag awayan. 😭

i wanna talk about how “mood” can really affect a writer’s motivation to write. As writers, lagi kaming nagiisip. Di naman namin sinasadya. Naiisip namin stories namin, mga stories na gusto namin isulat, yung random fun fact na nalaman namin na biglang naging prompt. Etc. So in an ideal world, we would almost always be writing. Kase outlet sya nung never ending thoughts namin. Pero there is life and responsibilities and deliverables and sad days and tired days and days when the idea of pushing anything more out your brain sounds like the worst thing in the world. That’s physical energy. Then there’s also times na you feel unsure, you doubt, you overthink, you complicate, you compare, etc. That’s mental energy. So when you say things like pwede mo bang bilisan kase yung current na sulat mo di ko trip, or wala pa bang update? Honestly nakaka demotivate sya. Kase in an ideal world magsusulat kami. Kase gusto talaga namin sana. Pero our physical and mental exhaustion sometimes outweigh our desire to create. And I’m not saying this to guilt-trip or to invalidate yung personal preferences nyo; I’m saying this so that you can be a little more mindful about what you say to the authors of stories you’re getting for ✨free✨ Surely asking you to think before you speak isn’t too much to ask, right?
