This is my home in Kashmir right on the banks of River Jhelum. The place I took my first steps, spoke my first words. Gone since the 1990 Genocide. A Muslim family lives there illegally. I have tried for 2.5 years, submitted all papers to the Govt but every time, local officials say 'No home at that address'. My mother still clutches the old key. Please help. Share and amplify my plea. Maybe, one day, justice will return our world to us. 🙏🏼🕉️🚩

The spring blossoms of Butea monosperma are also known as Kimśuka(किंशुक) in Sanskrit. The name is often explained as kim+śuka (what, a parrot?), as the curved orange-red flowers resemble parrot beaks. Sometimes in a language a name begins with wonder & a question becomes a noun.

A popular theory is that b/w the 8th & 9th centuries, the Mewar region was ruled by 3 legendary kings all named Rawal Khuman (Khuman I, II, and III). They were famous for successfully repelling the initial Arab invasions. It is said that people started greeting each other with Ghani-Ghani Khamma, which was originally Ghani-Ghani Khumans a prayer/wish that the land be blessed with Many, many Khumans (brave protectors). 1000+ yrs, Khuman (the name) likely merged phonetically with Khamma (forgiveness), shifting the greeting from a political slogan to a humble social grace.
Subhash Kak ☀️ सुभाष काक@subhash_kak

It is well known that Rajasthani greeting "Khamma ghani" खम्मा घणी is translation of "Excuse me" or "gustakhi maaf" "Khamma" is obviously "Kshama" क्षमा Question: What is "ghani" घणी ?

It’s Bougainvillea time..! The Bougainvillea is native of Latin America, but found almost every part of world. It’s named after French Admiral Louis Antoine de Bougainville who circumnavigated the world in 1763. Share your Bougainvillea picture.

People asking why I quote ancient Indian ideas after modern science discovers something similar. Cos modern science gives us the vocabulary to decode what those texts were pointing at. Ancient scholars observed patterns, Modern science explains mechanisms. My goal is not to claim someone in 500 BC had particle accelerators. The goal is simply to remind people that many of these ideas were already being thought about in India long before our knowledge systems were disrupted during the medieval period. Universities were destroyed, lineages broke, manuscripts scattered. I am not claiming discoveries but trying to reconnect the dots. Personally, I have always believed that forgotten does not mean nonexistent.

This version of the formula uses radians instead of degrees, the degree version is more famous for its mysterious 40500. Bhāskara I wrote it in a Sanskrit verse using a system called Bhuta-sankhya (object-numbers). To say "40500," he used the phrase "sky-cloud-arrow-sky-ocean." Sky = 0 Cloud = 0 Arrow = 5 (representing the 5 arrows of Kamadeva) Sky = 0 Ocean = 4 (representing the 4 oceans) By writing it as a poem, he ensured that if a scribe made a mistake in a digit, the meter (rhythm) of the poem would break, alerting the reader that the math was corrupted. It was a 7th century version of a checksum.

Au 7ème siècle après J.C., le mathématicien indien Bhaskara I donna une formule approchée pour calculer le sinus d'un nombre. On ne sait pas par quelle méthode il a trouvé cette jolie formule.

Kids were playing Holi in Delhi’s Uttam Nagar. An 11 yo girl threw a water balloon from her roof toward her father standing on the road below. The balloon burst on the street; a few stray droplets splashed a nearby woman from the Muslim community. Woman got angry. An argument followed. The girl’s family apologised. By all accounts, the matter seemed over. But apparently, it wasn’t. About half an hour later, a mob, armed with bricks, stones and iron rods, arrived and attacked the girl's family. In the assault, Tarun (pictured), a young man, was killed and four others were injured. Killing someone over an accidental splash of water, one that had already been apologised for, cannot plausibly be explained by that moment alone. When violence erupts with such speed and ferocity, it suggests that something far deeper than the stated trigger was waiting just beneath the surface.

What if I tell you, the Surya Siddhanta (dating back to at least the 6th century AD) describes the motion of Mercury with incredible precision. It classifies planetary motion into 8 types, including Vakra (Retrograde) & Anuvakra (Re-retrograde). The Surya Siddhanta calculated Mercury’s sidereal period as 87.97 days. The modern NASA value? 87.9691 days. Ancient Indian astronomers reached 99.99% accuracy w/o a single telescope, purely through the complex trigonometry of epicycles.

We call it pseudoscience when it is in Sanskrit. We call it cutting edge when it is in Latin. Rename Sushruta to Dr. Simon Rutherford, publish it from Oxford, & suddenly it becomes revolutionary. Same idea....Different accent....Instant applause. Funny how evidence changes value depending on the passport attached to it.

A 12-year-old Hindu girl was raped and murdered in Bangladesh today. Yesterday, a Hindu widow was gang-raped, and publicly humiliated. The same day, three more Hindu men were killed. Seems like , India’s extremely tough move of sacking Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL hasn’t quite terrified the Bangladeshi govt into cracking down on radicals or protecting minorities. Perhaps we need to escalate further, summon their ambassador and make him wait an entire hour. That should surely do it.

Two clever people can’t fall in love. True love needs one 'idiot'. Not the bad kind of idiot. Not reckless. Not foolish. Just emotionally brave enough to look silly. Because when two clever people meet, love turns into a chess match. Who texts first? Who waits longer? Who cares less? Who has the upper hand? Both are smart. Both are guarded. Both are quietly afraid of being the one who loves more. So they analyze instead of feel. They calculate instead of confess. They protect instead of lean in. Enter the ''idiot'. The one who double texts. The one who says, “I miss you” without checking power dynamics. The one who loves loudly, apologizes first, and risks looking foolish. The one who forgets the rulebook and follows the heart. They don’t ask, “Is this wise?” They ask, “Is this honest?” And that is where love begins. Because love isn’t a strategy game. Real love always starts with someone brave enough to be vulnerable first. Someone willing to care without guarantees. Someone who risks being hurt just to be real. And then the other clever person eventually puts down the armour, smiles, and becomes a little bit of an idiot too. Love doesn’t need two geniuses. It needs two humans and at least one willing to go first. Who was the 'idiot' in your relationship ? #relationships

Pakistan-like mob radicalism is now operating in Bangladesh in full public view. Hindu homes, temples, and livelihoods are being attacked. Anti-Hindu violence has escalated since the interim West-backed dispensation took over. In broad daylight, a Hindu man was lynched by a mob of Muslims. The sit-in at Shahbagh demanding justice for Osman Hadi saw terrorists in attendance. It was joined by jihadist figures, most notably Jasimuddin Rahmani of Ansar-al-Islam, the active Al-Qaeda module in Bangladesh. Rahmani has a long record of facilitating the killings of atheists and issuing hate speech against Hindus, atheists, and other non-Muslim communities. His presence at the sit-in, coupled with his habitual anti-India rhetoric, is deeply troubling. According to a very highly placed source in New Delhi, Ansarullah Bangla/Ansar-al-Islam Bangladesh links are also being probed in connection with the Delhi terror attack, including possible logistical facilitation for Jaish-e-Mohammed. When Al-Qaeda-affiliated operatives freely take public platforms and deliver provocative speeches without pushback, it signals that the Pakistanisation of Bangladesh is now in full throttle. It tells you exactly what this mobilisation is about, and who is being protected by silence at home and abroad. India has very few reasons left not to view Bangladesh as an adversary and a civilisational threat. That reality always existed, but the Sheikh Hasina-led democratic government had at least kept radical Islamist forces under firm control.

A PRAYER FOR THE SOUL OF DIPU CHANDRA DAS History remembers sacrifice. But today, the soil that was once liberated with Indian blood is being stained with the blood of innocent minorities. In 1971, our Indian Armed Forces stood for the oppressed. Our brave soldiers didn’t just fight a war; they fought for the identity and dignity of millions of people of what is now called Bangladesh. Nearly 3,900 Indian soldiers sacrificed their lives and over 10,000 were injured to ensure the birth of Bangladesh. We gave our lives so that others could live in peace. But today, “peace” is just a word; persecution is the reality. According to the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, 2,442 incidents of violence against minorities were documented between August 2024 and July 2025. Over 150 temples have been vandalized and desecrated. These are not just acts of unrest or random chaos; it is a deliberate, targeted strike at the heart of a community’s faith and its right to exist. The pattern of targeting is clear and cruel - Last year, we saw the unjust jailing of the ISKCON monk Chinmoy Krishna Das and the brutal lynching of the Communist party leader Pradip Bhowmik. And now the horrific murder of Dipu Chandra Das in Mymensingh. This young man was not just killed; he was subjected to a level of savagery that shames the 21st century. Reports confirm he was lynched in public by a frenzied mob, his body was then hanged from a tree, and he was set on fire. To witness such a demonic act in broad daylight is a sign of a complete collapse of humanity and the rule of law. My heart goes out to the soul of Dipu Das. I pray for his peace and offer my deepest condolences to his grieving family, who have had to endure a loss so gruesome it is beyond comprehension. The demographic reality of the region is a chilling testament to this ongoing tragedy. In 1951, Hindus made up 22% of the population. Today, that number has plummeted to below 8%. This isn't just migration; it is a systematic persecution that the world chooses to ignore. I call upon the Leadership of Bangladesh to move beyond mere words of condemnation and restore stability. You must ensure the safety of every Hindu, Buddhist, and Christian citizen. The perpetrators of the Mymensingh horror must face the ultimate justice to show that no mob is above the law. I also urge World Leaders and the international community @UNHumanRights @UN to open their eyes to the plight of minorities in Bangladesh. Selective silence is a betrayal of human rights. The blood of our 1971 martyrs was shed for a land of peace, not a land of persecution. We cannot, and will not, remain silent. #SaveBangladeshMinorities #GlobalHinduMinority
