Despite reservation and less job opportunities in Govt sector Upper caste Hindu do well in life overall, you know why? Because unlike other caste and religion they don't become permanent vote bank, they keep changing the people in power once they think that current one became arrogant and incompetent to rule. Long time back this Upper caste hindus shifted from Congress to BJP and now showing that they can shift from BJP to someone like Prashant Kishor as well if required.

Not many people realize how significant this day is. In a state like Bihar, someone who refused to campaign on caste has WON. This is the course correction India desperately needed!

1) BJP lost Bankipur not because the public is against the party, but because PK was seen as a stronger candidate than the BJP nominee. Many voters believed the by-election result wouldn't affect the BJP govt, so they chose the candidate over the party. 2) BJP losing by-elections isn't something new. The party has lost several by-elections in the past as well. By-election results, more often than not, do not reflect the overall public mood or predict the outcome of a general election. I do have a few suggestions for the BJP based on this result. I'll be sharing them soon in a detailed article.
