$611K base salary for a Chief of Police isn’t just high, it’s an outlier that demands scrutiny. What I really want to say is it’s fucking disgusting.
When a Chiefs good friend, the Mayor, chairs the Police Board and has influence over that pay, the issue isn’t just compensation, it’s governance. It’s conflict.
Even if it’s technically allowed, the optics are terrible.
Public trust in policing doesn’t survive arrangements that look like this.
The board should have to disclose the decision making process that led them here.

Doug Ford says OSAP is "unsustainable," but he has billions to spend on a luxury spa, a fantasy island, and vanity projects no one asked for.
As a mom to two young adults, I know what this generation is up against. Students across Ontario are being forced to choose between their future and a lifetime of debt — because Doug Ford chose a spa over their education.
Today, I'm forcing a debate and a vote to reverse these cuts and eliminate all interest on student loans.
Before Conservative MPPs vote, go to SaveOSAP.ca and email them. Tell them to do the right thing and vote YES.

Last year, the gov't promoted a $5 billion Protecting Ontario Account. Only $1 billion was actually made available. Imagine losing your job and finding out that only 20% of the fund that was supposed to protect workers was ever used. That's not protection. It's smoke and mirrors.

Deaths in home care were completely covered up by the government and by the "charities" and "non-profits" that offer it.
In one month in the GTA, in 2020, over 350 home care clients died. Many were not found for a long time. All were easy to cover up and no one was accountable.

I was already vocal about the slaughter going on in long term care, on my social media. And the hundreds of deaths of people who did not get home care, also buried..I was fired a few months later, part of a wave of firings to rid the prov government of potential whistleblowers.
