Very sad news today of a rabies death in the UK- the third in a decade. Rabies is almost always fatal, but is fully preventable. Get immunised before travelling to at risk areas, and see a doctor if you are bitten/ scratched. thehtd.org

Humans get infected by consuming fruit products (e.g. raw date palm juice) contaminated with faeces/urine/saliva from infected bats🦇

Infant mortality around the world has halved from 8.8 million deaths in 1990 to 4.2 million in 2016.
BUT, 3% of children still die before their fifth birthday. Universal Healthcare is an important part of reducing this number even further
