Why do we sometimes complete a task too soon? What makes us focus on low-priority tasks instead of what's important? We find it is the desire for closure. Thank you, @HarvardBiz, for publishing my paper with @Annabelle94R hbr.org/2024/10/resear…

If you’re feeling impatient, you’re not alone. According to our latest research, waiting is not only hard, but it's getting harder. Your impatience for the holidays will increase just before the wait is over. Thank you, @Annabelle94R. journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/19…

So excited to get the opportunity to share our success, and hoping that our research will encourage others to share and celebrate their successes as well! Thank you to @EmmaELevine and @ovulsezer for making this research possible :)

Our new paper finds that people often hide their success from others, but sharing success has more positive relational consequences than hiding success. Thank you to my amazing collaborators @EmmaELevine and @ovulsezer and to @AdamMGrant for helping to share our success!
Adam Grant@AdamMGrant

We sometimes hide our successes to protect our friends and colleagues, but it actually hurts our relationships. New research: concealing achievements is an insult. When we share our successes, people are more likely to trust us and celebrate with us— and less likely to envy us.

@AdamMGrant @EmmaELevine @ovulsezer Thank you @AdamMGrant for sharing our research! To address the comments about gender effects: We don't find systematic differences in responses to hiding success between men and women across our studies. Both men and women respond negatively to hiding success
