Today I became the very proud father of a sweet, smart, funny and kind teenager Jax Copeland Arnold. Jax is my best friend my nemesis my muse. Sometimes he’s big and tough but he’s always my baby. It’s spring break so we could’ve gone somewhere but Jax wanted to have his buddies spent 3 days and nights here at Camp Arnold. It was a combination of the first Woodstock because it was filthy and the fire Woodstock because it was a little dangerous. I watched, listened, broke up fights, apologized to the neighbors and cleaned up. It was the best, most satisfying long weekend of my life and don’t tell anyone but these 5 fearless gangsters slept in the same bed ❤️🎂

My 1st instinct was STFU. However lemme try and help u understand. My Great Grandfather's, Great Grandpa was brought thru a port in South Carolina to Alabama and enslaved. My Fathers Family was owned By Crawford Long (Google). The vocabulary I use is just truthful. My grandfather's family must have been owned by British people. If that offends you, you need to search within yourself as to why. I was elated to found out that the weird breakfast we ate, including blood pudding has an origin and because of my travel and success I got to discover what that origin was. My grandfather, who is the grandchild of a slave had an opportunity in his lifetime to see his grandson enjoy freedom, help provide freedom to others and travel to the place of origin that our breakfast came from. I wish I knew more about my personal history, but I will never be ashamed for having overcame what black encountered here. U shud humble ya self and not tell me or other black people how to commemorate and commiserate our ancestors and their struggles. Happy black history month and enjoy the day, bubba. Love and Respect!

Okay since so many people have been so concerned and generous with their sympathy and empathy, here’s the update. Gracie, the best cat I’ve ever met, never mind “owned,” reached stage four kidney failure this week. We made one last trip, as a family, to the vet to see if there was anything we could do. The only thing to be done was make her as comfortable as possible and see her off. She was a sweet heart to the end, even when she couldn’t stand up she was grateful and eager for company, water, pets, scritches, and love. A vet specialist came to our home this morning and was as kind hearted and considerate as anyone could ask. Gracie’s passing was peaceful. My daughter, Lucy, was by her side and we were all with her.
