The future of the Western Balkans is in the EU. Let’s work to make it happen. This is the message I delivered, together with @kajakallas and @Marta1Kos, at today’s dinner with #WesternBalkans’ leaders.

This marks the beginning of a strong partnership for Europe. The challenges ahead won’t be a walk in the park, but together, we can overcome them. Europeans expect results: good jobs, a healthy climate, and a stronger defence. United, we will deliver.

I met @avucic and @albinkurti today. The only way to EU membership is through normalisation of their relations, on the basis of the Ohrid agreement. I welcomed the readiness to fully cooperate after the recent terrorist attack. Perpetrators must face justice.

A full day, with high priority meetings with leaders of Western Balkans and Moldova. Thank you @cvijanovicz @avucic @JakovMilatovic @mickoskih @cgherasimov for your constructive spirit! With a team like this I’m sure we can - and we should drive things forward.

Great to see the unblocking of decision-making & adoption of numerous pending decisions at @CEFTA_, following the lifting of measures at Merdare yesterday. This is a major boost to the Common Regional Market, an integral element of the 🇪🇺EU’s #GrowthPlan for the #WesternBalkans.

Happy to have accompanied President @vonderleyen & Commissioner @OliverVarhelyi at today's meeting with leaders from the #WesternBalkans. A great moment to review progress on the #GrowthPlan, & discuss the reforms which will unlock €6 billion from the Reform & Growth Facility!

Today I received the leaders of the six Western Balkan partners. All six countries belong in Europe. This is what we are working on. In parallel, we are bringing their economies and markets closer to ours with our €6 billion Growth Plan for the region.

“Last year, we initiated a high-level dialogue on cybersecurity and have seen significant progress. With EU support, RCC is developing a regional cybersecurity approach. Western Balkan legislation is aligning with EU acquis and cybersecurity is now a key focus in the #CommonRegionalMarket's second phase, aiming for integration into EU #SingleMarket by 2028, by aligning with EU cybersecurity certification framework, regional cooperation, and developing AI legislation. Embracing all-inclusiveness is paramount in our endeavour to implement cybersecurity measures across the WB,” ⏭️ RCC Secretary General @MajlindaBregu opening the event.

Deputy Head of Unit for #WesternBalkans Policy and Regional Strategy at @eu_near, @annavezy emphasised importance of #RegionalCooperation for cybersecurity & congratulated @rccint on its activities in this regard. She said that this event is a step forward in building links between EU and WB on cybersecurity, stressing that the EU’s #GrowthPlan for Western Balkans includes cybersecurity as one of its priorities in integration with the EU Single Market.
