Am I a bit salty that in a previous job I suggested some old iconic metal got creatively re-purposed by an artist instead of kept in deep storage, rarely seen and at great expense, only for people to react like I'd suggested we burn the museum down?

Top takeaway from the #Olympics - I LOVE the creative re-use of heritage collections by including pieces of the Eiffel Tower in the medals.
I think giving away pieces of a national icon shows a very meaningful generosity of spirit, and actually adds to the history of the tower.

everyone I know (also myself) who has ever needed time off for mental health issues did so after weeks of fighting through it, agonising over what it could mean for their career or ongoing projects. this is just dumb.

unclear how this could ever be enforced without getting staff, donors, contractors, consultants etc to basically sign away any right to an opinion? this message is only going to contribute to a climate of fear and stifle voices speaking truth to power.

This worries me. In 2020 my #ArtsCouncil-funded children's history and writing project #ColonialCountryside was targeted by the Common Sense Group of MPs and Peers who called it a "political project" and thereby ineligible for public funds. Is any project about colonial history to be automatically deemed political now?

Thanks to a psycho private dentist not believing my pain, the multiple infections caused by my wisdom tooth has caused a hole in my jaw.
Feel at least justified that the pain and impact of infection I have been carrying for well over a year is finally believed.

idk it's just quite exhausting seeing all the discourse about museums with 'missing' items suddenly go mainstream when you've watched colleagues and friends bang their heads against a brick wall trying to get people to care for YEARS
