The Nieman Fellowship at Harvard was transformative, and returning for the 85th reunion conference was restorative. At a time when misinformation is spreading and democracy feels fragile at home and abroad, journalism is not OK — and neither are journalists. But the conversations and ideas shared reminded us why this work matters, especially right now.

Each grantee will receive $11,250 to fund their project, which is jointly awarded by the National Press Foundation & @NPCInstitute. “Environmental racism is a critical issue that deserves the attention of these thoughtful and hardworking journalists,” said President @annieisi.
