Jack Dorsey just published something that should be required reading for every founder. The premise: the org chart needs to be replaced entirely. And the argument starts 2,000 years ago. For thousands of years, every organization on earth has run on the same logic the Roman Army invented. Small teams report to a leader → Leaders report to managers → Managers report to executives. The whole structure exists for one reason: to route information up and down the chain. That's it. The whole system exists to solve a bandwidth problem. Jack's argument is simple: AI solves it better. Block built what they call a "world model" - a continuously updated picture of everything happening across the company. Every decision. Every customer. Every transaction. Every bottleneck. In real time. No status update needed. No weekly sync. No manager to translate what's happening on the ground into language the executive can understand. When the world model carries the information, you don't need the layers. So they eliminated them. Block now runs on three roles: Individual contributors who build. DRIs who own specific outcomes for a fixed period. Player-coaches who develop people while still doing the work themselves. No middle layer. The system handles coordination. The humans handle the work. I've coached thousands of founders. The number one problem is always the same: information latency. By the time a problem surfaces from your front line to leadership, it's already compounded. By the time a decision travels back down, the damage is done. That lag costs you deals, people, and momentum. And most founders accept it as the price of scale. Block is trying to prove you don't have to anymore. I think they're right. Because the hierarchy was never the point - it was just the best tool we had. The moment something better exists, the layers eventually collapse. This is either the biggest structural shift since the 1850s - or it breaks at scale like everything else before it. Either way - every founder should be asking the same question: how much of your org exists just to route information? If the answer is "most of it" - that's your problem. And your opportunity. -DM

My piece in the Economist where I argue against de-weirding AI. It is a strange technology with both risks & opportunities that need to be discovered. Pretending AI works like normal IT automation can result in bad outcomes for companies & their employees. economist.com/by-invitation/…

Officials say at least 62 people died in the raid that caught “El Mencho,” longtime head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, and violence that followed. This @vantortech satellite image of yesterday shows thick smoke across Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. More in thread. nytimes.com/live/2026/02/2…

Cero relleno. Róbalos todos 👇

🚨 Prompt engineering is officially outdated. Anthropic just released the real playbook for building AI agents that actually work. It’s a 30+ page deep dive called The Complete Guide to Building Skills for Claude and it quietly shifts the conversation from “prompt engineering” to real execution design. Here’s the big idea: A Skill isn’t just a prompt. It’s a structured system. You package instructions inside a SKILL.md file, optionally add scripts, references, and assets, and teach Claude a repeatable workflow once instead of re-explaining it every chat. But the real unlock is something they call progressive disclosure. Instead of dumping everything into context: • A lightweight YAML frontmatter tells Claude when to use the skill • Full instructions load only when relevant • Extra files are accessed only if needed Less context bloat. More precision. They also introduce a powerful analogy: MCP gives Claude the kitchen. Skills give it the recipe. Without skills: users connect tools and don’t know what to do next. With skills: workflows trigger automatically, best practices are embedded, API calls become consistent. They outline 3 major patterns: 1) Document & asset creation 2) Workflow automation 3) MCP enhancement And they emphasize something most builders ignore: testing. Trigger accuracy. Tool call efficiency. Failure rate. Token usage. This isn’t about clever wording. It’s about designing an execution layer on top of LLMs. Skills work across Claude.ai, Claude Code, and the API. Build once, deploy everywhere. The era of “just write a better prompt” is ending. Anthropic just handed everyone a blueprint for turning chat into infrastructure. Download the guide here: resources.anthropic.com/hubfs/The-Comp…
