The reason it’s impossible is because while there is a spec resolvers SHOULD follow, what happens in reality is always gonna be a little different.
Ever nuked a site by switching its record type, causing some random resolvers to suggest that the site is basically blackholed?

You can understand how dns works, and even down to the protocol level
What you can never understand, is the wild nature at which random resolvers on the internet behave
If you think you do understand how every public resolver works, you haven’t had enough DNS experience
